Honestly not something I would worry too much about. None of the European premium brands have a stellar track record and Alfa at least seem to offer decent warranties. I'm sure they are extra careful as well since under scrutiny regarding their quality (unjustified for at least 2 decades). Not sure how bad the dealer situation is in the UK though.

Styling? Agree with the Kaptein -- they really look good in the wild. Saw the first one in a show room in summer, then a couple on French autoroutes in the fall. Then the 'Veloce' in Paris. I've been critical at the launch, and still prefer the 159. But still a *very* handsome car IMO! They even look good in resale silver. And certainly better than the competition (including the XE which I find just a bit too generic).

Not interested in the current range though. Can't afford the Cloverleaf. But would like a petrol engine in classic RWD and 6MT box configuration. Preferably with the 280 PS map.

For what ever reason they are not offering such a car. The 280 PS is only available as 'Veloce' and that comes with AWD and AT8 only :-/. 160kg weight penalty and at least 6k GBP extra cost for stuff I don't want. No thanks.

Can't understand that at all. They will have done their market research, but considering all the noise and opera they made at launch time with their history and sporting heritage... One would imagine they'd show off their RWD platform with an accessible model that could highlight all of that platform's strengths.

Bean counters in charge most likely. FFS, Alfa!

Sadly, they are not selling.

Had some time to kill recently and popped into a dealership for a look. Was offered £5k off straightaway without showing any interest.

Residual hell awaits any UK buyers, which is a shame as it looked lovely and felt very well made, although not quite German.

It's a long time since I last saw an Alfa dealership, let alone a new Alfa.

Really? See tonnes of Guilietta's on the road here, don't know how new they are though.

Hmm, residuals are down to supply and demand. If there's no sales, but people REALLY want to buy it second hand, residuals could be a lot higher than the germans, of which second hand supply is enormous.

The website could be better, I asked for a brochure and it froze, perhaps it fainted?
