Great day out, worth the (very wet!) drive down from Manchester. Thanks very much guys!
Here's a couple of my shots:

We headed to Bletchley Park after the event where I stumbled across these Morgans!

I really enjoyed this, the PH team organised another great event, well done chaps!
The catering was very welcome and enjoyed (too late for bacon though! LOL)

I think I was expecting VW to be slightly more present though, in the capacity of hosts celebrating one of their model's anniversary I mean. I got the impression from the original article that this was a collaboration and I somehow expected something slightly different.

However, this is no way a criticism, it was great morning and worth the journey. We spent the afternoon at Bletchley Park which is somewhere I've wanted to go for a few years now.

Thanks again!
clap

Just back from the meet at VW HQ and very impressed with the turnout and organisation – thanks to James and the PH crew and to VW PR team :-)

Didn't manage to see all and everyone – could have done with a few more hours ... but will be running a photoreport feature in the next issue of Volkswagen Driver magazine ( October issue out mid Sept )

cheers

Had a great day yesterday & good to see so many Gti's in one place!
Free catering was a welcome bonus. smile

Only thing that ruined it for me was the fact that my commemorate sticker flew out my window on the way home frown

I'll find out if there are any left - there were plenty left but I gave them back to the Volkswagen folks who were then giving them out to anyone who wanted a spare.

I'll let you know if I get hold of one for you!

Great morning. Thanks to everyone that organised it all.

Some great cars on show, just nice to see some honest, original GTI's for a chance.

Nice morning out, well organised show and you can't go wrong with a free bacon butty and a brew!

Some nice original Golfs on display, great to see such a nice collection of honest cars on show. Its also confirmed that I now want a mk7 GTI.... Currently playing with the online configuration tool.

I was a little disappointed at what appeared to be a lack of involvement from Volkswagen themselves but all in all a nice little morning ride out, also spotted a Veyron on the road for the first time on the way back.

Thanks to all who put the effort in to organising this, was a great morning. Like some others have said, was really nice to see some original cars and some with just minor adjustments, I'm including mine in the minor adjustments category. The coffee van produced the best Mocha i've ever had, so thanks to him and the bacon roll was very welcome to!

Looked like a great event. Some lovely examples there. It's pretty kool to see how the Golf GTI has changed over the years.

I must say that dark blue MK7 looks stunning. Makes me sad that i had to cancel my order for mine not long ago. Starting to see loads on the roads now which is a nice changed from the usual crop of GTDs everywhere.

So gutted I wasn't able to attend, sounds like it was a great morning. Especially gutting having seen the red B reg mk2 as that's exactly what I would have been bringing! Would love to have got a shot of the two of them together.

VW had a few left - email me your address and they'll send you one out. (James.drake@haymarket.com)

Your early MK2 GTI looks really nice, it's a pity you couldn't make it.
There were actually 2 B reg. Mars Red MK2 GTIs present; mine and another very similar car with around half the mileage that was very clean:

Nothing special, but I have a shot of Y40 APR in the lineup. In fact I think it is on the Volkswagen Driver mag facebook page. Email me at Neil.Birkitt@autometrix.co.uk and I'll send you the jpeg :-)
