Your early MK2 GTI looks really nice, it's a pity you couldn't make it.
There were actually 2 B reg. Mars Red MK2 GTIs present; mine and another very similar car with around half the mileage that was very clean:
Wow that's super clean. Both your cars are. I couldn't make it was because I'm trying to get my engine bay as sorted as that one and I couldn't get it back together in time. Got a hell of a long way to go before it's as tidy as theirs! There were actually 2 B reg. Hi chaps, I'm the guy with the other B reg mk2 in the pictures.
It was a great show, some superb cars and the free breakfast was a bonus.
Nick, you was a worthy winner!
One day I will try and get round to a build thread for my golf....

It was a shame the event ended at noon as I would have liked more time to look at the cars, especially yours Lawrence! It would have been good to get a photo of our very similar cars together. Hopefully we can meet up at an event in the future.
Thanks to PH and VW for a great morning. Was a bit worried that turnout would be low; the rain was torrential on the M1, but it was a really good turnout.
Great to see so many cars across the different periods and was nice to be able to nose about inside the VW HQ. Lots of really friendly owners who were happy to discuss their cars as well.

PringleFTW your engine looks great, I look forward to seeing the car when it's finished. Do you have a build thread?

Definitely get another photo opportunity Nick, such as one of the key VW shows such as Stanford Hall etcIt was a shame the event ended at noon as I would have liked more time to look at the cars, especially yours Lawrence! Just putting together our photo-report for the forthcoming issue of Volkswagen Driver ( yes, I know it was few weeks ago, but I've had an issue of Audi Driver to produce in the meantime... ;-)
I already knew a lot of cars and owners there, but there are a couple of cars I'd like to get some more info on, for photo captions etc, especially the silver Mk 1 Reg. XUY 180V or, for that matter, anyone else who fancies seeing their name / pic of their car in the mag... :-)
I'd be grateful if the owner, or someone who knows them, could drop me a line with any info at Neil.Birkitt@autometrix.co.uk
cheers
