But if someone buys it and makes it look anything like that bottom picture, it will be the coolest thing since Cool McCool visited the Antarctic

190E 2.6 sportline manual. I like it. Including the bodykit (but not the Cosworth badge!). http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C896768

Lovely car and I agree about the Cosworth badge.
Best removed.

Not for a 2.6 in good condition, but possibly for one that has been messed about with. I'm not sure if the manual is a good or a bad thing really (but I'd love to try one!).

A gentle haggle over budget.

A brown Shadow with brown leather.

I've never liked the bumpers on the Shadow II, but the Shadow is a lovely shape. I like the brown!

Needs a period, or retro look stereo fitting rather than that gash thing, and desperately needs a tidy up under the bonnet!

They do seem to pickup some interesting cars though.

Not seen one of these for a long time.

No kidding... Just looked on their website - a lot of cars have "Full service history". Even the 16 year old Jag S type and 10 year old Seat MPV.

I wonder if FSH constitutes stamps in the book or invoices and receipts.... laugh

I'd take either of these, although I have long hankered after a Sunbeam Alpine, so that edges it.

I clicked through to the Mercedes advert (obv) and immediately felt The Twitch™, so scrolled down in the hope it would be in Cornwall, or Ayr.

And it's in the same bloody postcode as me.

Uh oh.

Nice, isn't it? Reasonably-priced I thought. Close too. You know where this is going, right ...?

You've arranged this deliberately, haven't you, as payback for the SLC? Don't think I don't know your game, sonny. Well it's not going to work. I'm a man of iron self-discipline and I would never endanger my marriage, my financial stability and... and... oh God, just look the the MB-Tex and he has a load of spares and it has a fresh MOT and what time do the banks open and is it too late to call at 10.20 on Sunday night really, REALLY, well actually I don't think it is unreasonable and just take my money already given dammit.

We're quits now.

Wife says No.

But reading between the lines, she means No-but-go-and-buy-it-anyway-because-I-love-your-bad-boy-insouciance-and-cavalier-attitude. Then we have a big fight when you bring it home, followed by a tearful-but-ultimately-cathartic discussion about our relationship and some hot hot make-up sex, followed by a post-coital drive in the W114.

I can relate to all the 'no' in your post but, sadly, less frequently to the hot make-up sex; my disobedience seems to trigger an abstinence response rather than a forgiving one!

Is it on your drive yet?

It is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission.
