This Greek vendor had a lovely XJS that I was chasing for ages, but we couldn't make a deal. I now see that he's selling this rather yummy thing. Aside from being 'Uniqie', over-budget and in Athens, I love it.

I defy you to find a cooler car for the money.
I think he's asking way too much for that CX, and you'd have to find some way of driving/shipping it back from Greece. Metric alloys too. You might even find a couple of stowaways hiding in the boot once you get it home.

On the other hand, having bought an '88 CX GTi (79,000 miles) for £2.7k a couple of weeks ago, maybe I'm being cynical.
Yes, it's expensive, but just look at it! And imagine the epic road trip home.

Post some pics of yours.

I'd be worrying as I approached the road to the port of Calais.

Here:

Supposedly only 7 or 8 surviving non-turbo GTis currently on the road at present, and maybe no more than about 200 RHD CXs still up and about (i.e. MoT'd and taxed) in the UK.

Not helped by blatant profiteering on parts prices by CX-Basis, which has a near monopoly on the remaining stock of new spares.

Smashing. My BX 16 TRS was that colour, with grey tweed inside.

Hope it proves a keeper.

It's my midlife crisis. I always wanted one, just because of its suspension and the way it looked.

This one has had six previous owners (I'm no.7) in 29 years, but has hardly gone anywhere and seems to have been garaged for much of its life. Very little rust on the longerons underneath, fortunately, but still need to get some FE-123 or Bilt Hamber on those parts fairly soon.

My previous old car, an '83 BMW 635CSi, I had for 18 years. I'm hoping to be able to keep the CX going for at least half of that, given that there's zero spares support from Citroën.

Here's the interior:

Good to know you're still driving stylish cars Horsetan; bigcoupe misses you.

This will probably be the last affordable unconventional car I'll ever have.

VW K70L, NSU Ro80, I've had these too. A great laugh.

Slightly different from a futuristic Citroen, but wantable nonetheless.

"P5BNij" will probably covet that. I find P5s generally a bit heavy below the waistline, but that's the way car design was back then.

What's wrong with the bonnet fit? OK down the sides so it's not ajar, but the lineup with the top of the grille is appalling.

My wedding car was a P5 coupe. The wife wanted something from the 50s/60s and thanks to Rover's styling department she got a P5!

This one's coming up for auction, and you won't have to cross a continent to see it

Mine as well :-) complete with driver who looked like he was straight out of a 60's beat band. Very cool.

My WW2 pilot Great Uncle had one for a few years with red leather and vinyl roof.
Remember as a 7 or 8 year old going for a drive with him and reverse gear went on the gearbox.
Not good when parked nose in on a gravel car park by the coast. Took 3 guys to push it out of the space.

Years later he had one of the first BX's in the country.

How about a Maserati quattroporte? 2.8 V6 engine and a sumptuous interior. Very reasonable price at £6k?

Quite a good garage actually... Well worth a wander round if you're down there.

Bought a TR6 from them last year smile

Don't know if it's just the camera angles, but the pedals look really, really offset

Italian car RHD format, hmm. I would not be at all surprised. I'm trying to think of a case where the pedals haven't been highly offset in every RHD Italian I've driven. But I can't.

Still love (some of) them though.

Seems pricey, but is definitely lovely, interesting, classic, retro and barge.
