No-one should think of buying that, it's clearly an overpriced dog. Leave well alone.

I would have to get a flight ticket and then the bank or the local loan shark.

If it was closer to me I would be off for a look.

There's a slight touch of the Jaguar XJ profile in that car.

But, white paint and grey-ish/tan leather does not an appealing combination make.

Glorious. Pity it's been modded so much, although it's possibly a better car for it.

Or even reach budget for that matter.

No bids. Not even 99p.

But remember folks, "no major rush to shoes" .

No bids as the seller ended the auction. No doubt sold off eBay.

In. I would love a different car altogether as a weekend motor. Love away from newish metal would be ideal and maybe make it a bit more special

I think my computer must have some kind of very odd virus - it keeps moving the decimal point one character to the right, with amusing results.

That rather drab and uninteresting B reg Alfa saloon for example, it's turning £695 into £6,950! biggrin

Better yet, a completely unremarkable '70s Audi with a rip roaring 1.9 litre engine, rusty sills and tin foil wrapped around the arches is showing as £5,995 instead of £599.50. laugh

S'pose I'd better get it fixed but it is quite funny, like a view into some weird parallel universe where people are prepared to pay thousands of pounds for dull unremarkable cars for no other reason than they're a bit old. smile

Driver should be wearing yellow corduroy trousers, black roll neck sweater, have unkempt hair and a wonky moustache. He should be drunk in charge, with a hipflask of brandy on the go. In the passenger seat should be a lightly sedated KLM air hostess, and in the boot a suitcase of unaccounted for foreign currency and some eye-watering sex toys.

Am I taking dreams of ownership too far?
I think you're describing a Jag owner.

A little sparse on details, but comes with a 12 month ticket.
I really wish carandclassic would sort out the size of their preview images.

Agreed. Rubbish photos on that site.

More importantly I can't believe that Fiat didn't dissolve in the 80s with the rest of them.

I remember them being hugely unpopular at the time. Comically so.

I’m not a fan of the XJS. Quite why someone decided black wheels and a black stripe up the bonnet was a good idea I don’t know.

Standard, not modified XJS’ I’m a massive fan of.
They can look utterly fantastic when modded. Unlike the one pictured.
