Admittedly not for sale, but an interesting classic no ?! Just seen this -

It's a brave man who takes an already rare car and then pays through the nose to make irreversible changes to it. Read how he did it here

There never were any right-hand-drive CX Loadrunners originally, so this fella (and he genuinely is named Phil Collins) had one built for him out of a standard CX Familiale.

i recall the headline in Car magazine back in the day. More fun than a Golf GTi and handles like a Porsche or something similar. My memory tells me it was a red car hurtling around a tight right-hander.
Id have that in my garage but not for the asking price, maybe a couple of grand...
on the subject of car magazine covers my other favourite was a headline figure of a 0-60 time of 0.001 nano-seconds or something ridiculous for Martin Schanches Ford escort rallyross car.

Might not that actually be safer than some complete cars in that at least you can see what you're getting?

These CXs are just about the coolest things ever to have hit the road. Anyone for a whip round to bring this beauty back home to England, where it belongs? That interior is just monster.

Why go all the way to Greece, when you could go to Sutton Coldfield and see this? This is the one I was going to see, until a Series 2 GTi popped up....

If I've understood the advert correctly, the SM is partly dismantled, but comes with all its components. The only defect is the windscreen which is unfortunately broken, so you'll need to find a secondhand one.

As it hasn't been fully reassembled, I imagine you could ship that off to Australia and have it converted expensively to right-hand-drive by SM Australia

Did they not make a rally version? Seem to remember it looked quite a weapon

There are two cars that make me ache with desire, and they are close cousins - this and the Khamsin. One day.

Sadly that say was several years ago frown

There was a point I considered a road trip to France to get similar seats for mine, but decided that was somewhat ridiculous.

God I miss it.

That's very cool. I'd love a CX, my Dad looked at buying one a few times back in the day. He had a couple of GS and a couple of BX when I was growing up which explains a lot.

That blue CX looks familiar - was it sold by Bradley James Classics a few years back?

Love these, and this one is in the best colour combo. Can't see which box it has, would love if it was a manual smile

In Belgium, but right hand drive, within thread budget and open to offers. What an epic way to get back home, do we have a thread winner here?

Grew up with the family running various CX, followed by BX,XM and Xantia. My first car was a 2cv followed by a couple of BX, Xantia and C5. A quick foray into Alfa and Jag ownership and now I’m back with a C6.

They seem to get under your skin, don’t they.

I'd take any of these, but would probably plump for the Spitfire if I had to choose only one.

Low mileage and unrestored. Any car with 'elated documents' must make for a happy buy.

All the right jobs done.

Looks like only 3 owners since 1971.

My parents' first car (in about 1972, they didn't drive before that) was a very grey Triumph Herald - probably about 10 year's old at the time. In a previous marriage I managed to convince MFW (My FIRST Wife) to purchase a slightly scrappy Spitfire 1500 in that gaudy green that appealed to the colourblind Leyland designers of the '70s.

I'd also have ANY of those over almost anything (apart from my current Barge, Lucienne) around today, except for the horrible state of living on today's UK roads.
