Whats peoples thoughts on the early f01/f02 BMW 7ers. Something like this look stupidly good value for money.

My phwooooooarrrrrrr meter just went off the scale at that price....

....however my Borkage Alarm set off lights and sirens, sent the USA to DefCon1, revised its own scale to logarithmic to cope, and then simply exploded.

Caveat: this is based on absolutely zero experience of the model (although too much experience of running cars I can't really afford wink )
We have one of these as a pool car at work and it's an M Sport model (I think, as my intricate BMW knowledge died with the E38) with the big parallel wheels and I can honestly say that the ride is smooth and comfortable. I prefer my old E38 in terms of actual drive and ride, but this one has much nicer toys and I think the seats are more comfortable on a long run, too.

I remember visiting my BMW specialists - very very knowlegeable ex-BM techs - and seeing the look in their eyes when they had one of those 7 series in with a radio that wasn't working occasionally. The automotive electrics equivalent of the Blair Witch Project. Terrifying.
Loving the interior - needs better pics smile

I have no experience or knowledge, but for that specific car:

  • I love that it has an unusual colour for the leather. Is it coral or are the pics a bit rubbish?
  • It looks terrible with blacked out or removed (can't tell) kidney grills.
Possible Borkimus Maximus, I assume? I'd take a nice SWB 750i in Jewish Racing Gold please.

Not sure really, I’m out of the country so won’t be able to view it unless it’s somehow still on sale in 2 months.

I like the blacked out look, maybe it’s just an age thing (23).

The 750i models are actually much less reliable of this age, a quick google shows the valve stems fail + turbo cooling lines block/blow off and such.

Condom coloured seats and dogging spec windows. Hmnn.

Other than that, I'm sure it's marvellous.

Why would you have tints if you're into dogging, surely the idea is that...

...allegedly. Not that I would know. Etc etc...

Well, this has gone terribly.

That is beautiful. I'm tempted to measure my empty garage.
As the ancient Chinese proverb (probably) said: 'fools measure; wise man simply buy, drive and be happy forever'.
I truly think this is where “if you have to ask” analogies come from. This car is superlatively huge, even by today’s standards. If you have to measure, it is (guaranteed*) not to fit.

*there’s always statistical outliers. wink
i don't think they're that big though, are they? - They are a lot smaller then the Jaguar MkX/420G.

See now call me naïve but I've never understand who it is that's "dogging". Is it the people in the car or the person watching? I mean, the latter is the one with the dog, but it's always spoken of in such a way as to imply it's the dogless fornicators in their car who are dogging. If I was to announce: "Right, I'm off out for a bit of dogging", would that mean I'm going to play hide the sausage with someone in my car in a woodland car park, or that I'm going out for a walk with my dog to peer at people playing hide the sausage in their car through the window? Who is the dogger, who is the doggee? Ok, so the dog's the doggy, I get that. But who is "dogging"? The sausage hiders or Morris Day in his raincoat? I hear the term "locally known dogging site", do people actively seek them out so they can be watched playing bouncy bouncy, or does it just mean people are attracted there to watch others at it like knives in their cars?

I just don't get it.

Oh my days. I could seriously go for this. Anyone want an R129? (or two? or three?)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-CX-GTI-Turbo-/2...

Don't be surprised if the next time you see this car is on Harry's Garage and the prices have trebled.

Every time I see a CX I wonder how I could have let mine go. Then I go and browse CX-Basis and I remember.

I read and nodded. Then clicked on the link. £10k!

Actually, I’ll pass, nice as it is!

It's actually nigh on 11k. Kinell that's a nice car but very expensive in my eyes.

Unflattering photos, but I've got a real soft spot for these. Under 8 grand and it looks a good'un. Cool and fun summer pose-mobile.

Bloody lovely.

Equally at home on a Shropshire B-Road or the streets of Monaco, I'd venture.

I put several hundred miles on a souped-up one of those many years ago, and it was one of the most joyful car-related experiences of my life.

Worth a haggle to bring into thread budget? I wrongly assumed the 6 pots were all 5 speeds.

It's certainly in budget, and great colour. Does it have a slight look of Hillman Avenger about it?
