That car looks pretty decent to me. It's the 'wrong' engine for those that care about that sort of stuff, but looks reasonably well-cared-for.

Probably falls into the faintly desirable box, without being cheap enough to be appealing 'because cheap'.
Solid doom blue. Shame!
Looking at the additional pics, that looks VERY tidy

Forget the engine, that looks incredible for the age/miles.

I always wonder about the people who buy cars like that new - who decided to spend more than the price of an average house on a Mercedes SEC, but then decided to go for the basic engine?

Seems like one of those "in for a penny, in for a pound" things. I doubt a 500 or 560 would've had a much worse range or worse maintenance requirements.
Dad bought mum a year old 500SEC back in the day. Was an astonishing car!

Made even better with M parallel wheels on the car now instead of the over sized Alpinas.

Started of at £13,995 a few months ago with the Alpina wheels and has just been reduced again to its present price.

I know they are worthy, wonderful things, but I struggle to feel much love for Alpina BMWs. Although I suppose an on-board fax machine pretty much guarantees pub bragging rights.

It isn't an Alpina, so you might like just like it...

Why would an >18mo thread get moved? Makes no sense to me. Can we have it back in GG please?

I've self-reported to make exactly that point. It's a 5-10 thread that's been perfectly happy in GG for two years so I'm not sure I see the logic of a move today.

Very nice indeed.

At these prices some of these are tempting.

That said, for teh last few days I have been trying to work out how I can fit a fax machine into my Aston.

Remove the solar lights and the cars and van in the background and this picture could be one for the period classic picture thread.

Best way to save that car from its surroundings is to buy it and park it somewhere else. I'd be tempted if I wasn't overseas, so I pass it to the thread to do the right thing.

Under thread min, but worthy of inclusion as a rather appealing summer runabout.

The thread's been quiet recently, so how about a few nice old buses to get it revived.

Cheesy 'here we have' ad, but white's fashionable, non?

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1038131 £8 grand.

A car your grandfather might have had. Yours for 8 grand, which is probably what he earned throughout his entire lifetime.

Finally, if anyone is already completely shedded this early on a Saturday night, something to tempt the unwary.

I think the Excel was said to be the best handling rear wheel drive car of that era, my uncle had the 2.0 16v vauxhaul engined one, felt ballistic back then.
