Lovely certainly, but have you considered getting rid of the awful tints?
Nope, it’ll damage the rear aerials on the rear quarter glass unfortunately... So they’ll stay as they are to keep it inline with how it came from Japan.

Plus they’ve grown on me now, wasn’t sure at first...

I can't see this is £10k worth unless it was made perfect, but it looks fantastic and 488bhp is properly mental.

Thats a PHers car, "Nigel O", also of the Fiat Coupe forum from back in the mists of time, Nigel was very helpful when I made the mistake of buying a pre ruined Fiat Coupe, he still pops up occasionally.

It was re-shelled as the original shell was a bit rotten, but I bet its a very well fettled example, despite the small bits of ropey bodywork.
Ah, I’ve read about his car - does seem properly rapid.

Not so much this one, but in general, the Fiat Coupe always struck me as an almost-design. There's something nearly-wonderful but not-quite-right about it.
Wonderful cars. Loved mine.

The cosmetic bits would be simple enough to sort. I think the shape of them has aged really well, and I say that as somebody who wasn't a huge fan of the looks when they first came out.
I bet that one goes like stink as well laugh

That's a car I want someone else to buy and own so I can borrow it for a week and then give it back, like a Volvo S80 V8. It's an interesting curio but I don't think it'd have enough else about it to justify the price and running costs over the many far superior V8 options you could have for the same money. A passat is nice and all, and a slightly faster passat would be slightly more interesting for sure, but if I'm getting 20mpg I want something a damn site better than "nice".

Even for a VAG fanboy an A6 V8 for the same price is going to make this look pretty crap.

1972 280 E Deluxe. Person has no idea what it's worth or how to go about selling it. Garage, as opposed to barn find I think.

Stealing a little from SB1-5K, that is, in every way, very much Top Banana!

I have no idea on value, either... ebay is the quick and easy answer, but probably won't achieve what optimism and patience might.

1996 E Class Coupe. "Only" the 2.2 but burning the right kinda fuel, and low miles with good history.

£4000

Looks smart - the last MOT has an advisory on the OSF wing being corroded, I wonder if the seller has just had that blown over?

That must be awful; my old 320 could barely drag itself along.

Eh? The 320 is a cracker of an engine.

The 220 is probably closer to 'adequate' but it'll work perfectly for what you want from a classic coupe.

Not so long ago the very last of these in Turbo Plus or LE spec were being advertised for far more than that without the engine mods. Maybe the price has dropped away again.

I have two; one is fully-restored (and shamefully, something of a garage queen), the other sits on the drive all year round having previously been MrsC's daily for several years, until a couple of minor faults convinced her that it was now unreliable (it's not). It's done about 165k without major drama and still starts first time every time even after a few months. Mine's on an agreed-value policy at £10k but as above, maybe it wouldn't make that now.

I also was surprised at that comment. My fathers E320 cabriolet is nicely powered IMO.

We had an E230 Estate in the later W210 shape, and that could sit at 120 leptons through France when going skiing without any issue, so I wouldn't have thought the E220 would be that slow.

OK, so compared to the £35k 280, this 230TE looks like an absolute steal with a guide of £7 - £11k. Aircon as well!

I found mine a severe disappointment, although in hindsight I'm not sure what I expected from it. My most recent prior coupes had been a BMW 635CSi, Jaguar XJ-S, and Peugeot 504 V6, all of which were much more inspiring to drive, albeit in different ways.
