Agree on all fronts with the above - the badges will go inside and out - i think its also got some chrome handle guards for the door openers? I'll ask when i call later.

interestingly the same dealer has a cl500 (5.5) - although the interior on that one looks a little dull in comparison, it does have a sunroof + extended leather dash (and no badges! ;-) )

makes the trip there worthwhile if i can look at both ;-)

The CL will come with ABC too, if that appeals.

Great colours. If you buy it, the first thing to do will be to remove the AMG badge.
What's the AMG badge on the glovebox lid?
I'll plump for 'egregious'. among many potential alternatives.

Car is tremendous though.
Does it stand for "A Mercedes Glovebox"?

Go and sit in the corner and think about what you've done.

ETA This has just been listed on Autotrader if you are still intersted in an S600. Crap pics and ad but the price seems about where things are at the moment.

I missed that one initially ! thanks for that link, seems the 0-60 time is wrong on the ad - states 6.0 seconds!?

yeah better pics for sure - and a hoover!, price is good, although 250+miles from me (as per usual)

EDIT - is that a nose-pick n flick on pic 8 , Page 11 pic, broken controls... frown

Book time 0-62 was 4.6 seconds. I actually spent a happy hour dicking about on empty roads seeing what sort of times it could do, really struggling for traction on 10C tarmac up to about 50MPH and I managed

0-20MPH times of between 0.88 seconds and 0.17 seconds
0-40MPH times of between 2.8 and 3 seconds
0-60MPH times of between 4.8 and 5 seconds
0-100MPH times of 10.1 and 10.7 seconds

The 0-100MPH time is smashing, the car takes about the same time to go from 60MPH to 100MPH as it does from 0-60MPH. I think the S500 is about 15.5 seconds to 100MPH, more or less the same as my X350 (and MX5!)

I like that a lot, and that was my first thought too.

I think this might have come up recently in either this thread or maybe the £1-5k barge thread, on the off chance has anyone given the vendor a call/gone to see it? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.

From experience the V10 S6 was a bit of a disappointment to drive, fairly dull, muted and not spectacular performance. A bit of a damp squib.

Not being funny but you'd better off in a 3.0TDI quattro.

Noted! However, I rather dislike cars that drink fron the black pump and will do me very best to never own one smile

I do, on the other hand, like V10s. The options are this, an RS6 of the same vintage or an E61 M5, but I have been reliably informed that the E61 wouldn't be recommended given that I drive with hand controls (and so it would be in auto mode all the time).

I find this car particualrly attractive because it's cheap, it's green and it has no tints, as well as having the preferred number of cylinders biggrin

It's the same one as featured a week or so ago, same dent in the tailgate to the left of the rear number plate. Reg ends in LTF I think. There was a green one for sale privately previously and it could be the same one traded in or disposed of via WBAC?

These are starting to creep into budget and I've always been a fan of the style of the CLS and the AMG flavours are particularly tasty

With the odd honourable exception (poster, not car) any LPGd car is a complete turn-off for me. It's the sign of a parsimonious fool who thinks the channel tunnel is to enable a French invasion and therefore something to be avoided.

LPG filler in the back bumper plus chav exhaust spoils an otherwise gem by the look of it.

It costs quite a lot to get a decent LPG conversion done, so it can also speak of an owner who invested in the long term for the car. I've had a couple of LPG cars and it wouldn't put me off as long as it's been decently converted and is running ok.
