What do you drive? How much attention?

My business partner has just bought a new 'commercial' Defender for over £110K - I thought their purpose was on farms and the battlefield??
It seems they will be on Hollywood Boulevard instead of a muddy war zone!
Wow that’s going some - my 90 X-Dynamic was £60k new last month. It seems they will be on Hollywood Boulevard instead of a muddy war zone!

It was beyond my comprehension, to me the Defender is a workhorse not a 'G Wagon' - apparently it has 7 seats, but removable for commercial status, obviously has 22" wheels and a blue flashing light! All I know is it's big, black and tows a horse box!
I guess Landrover are pandering to the 'commercial' sector, by making bomb proof gangster cars!
(We don't sell drugs - we are a security business - and not supplying personal protection!!)

A fair number of looks every time i take it out but mostly from the over 40s generation
Point to note very little attention from women younger than that.
The words ferrari and porsche seems to light their candle so maybe not the car if you want a fanny magnet lol

Same here some attention from car enthusiasts and surprisingly far more powerful cars wanting to race the poor little thing which I don’t really understand.
Either powerful cars trying to race or ordinary larger cars driving right on the rear bumper trying to push you along. Abarth's are best suited for the country road fun.Silverspirit 2 said:

Whilst a few cars are lovely to look at, does anyone `really' worry about how much attention a car will get when they are driving it?
Surely buying a car, should be based on its ability to meet what a person wants out of it, like cost, space, speed, handling, range, practicality, safety etc depending on an different individuals specific needs?

Some cars might attract the wrong attention, so "worry" would depend on circumstance. For instance, a small part of me worried when the wife took out the C63s, especially when you hear about car jackings or people following you home. So not a welcome prospect for a lady with small children.Surely buying a car, should be based on its ability to meet what a person wants out of it, like cost, space, speed, handling, range, practicality, safety etc depending on an different individuals specific needs?
