Fiesta ST - mostly get acknowledgement from other Fiesta ST owners which is slightly strange but I'm okay with that. Compared to my sheep in sheep's clothing Focus, the ST attracts a lot more attention from knobs in white vans that either want to race me, or sit up my pert posterior. Including this chappy that kept revving his transit next to me, and nearly destroyed his gearbox trying to race me off the lights - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbchpbgYkyo.

Other notable moments include a complete ape in an orange mk2 Focus ST trying to have a 'play' with me on a twisty road, I say tried because he couldn't even keep up with me on most corners then spent every straight stuck up my behind laughing to his equally dim looking mate. Pulled over in a layby and let him get on with it before he tried a stupid overtake and wiped out the both of us.

I didn't really expect much else from owning a chavvy little hatchback so I'm fine with it.

My car is that amazing women throw their phone numbers and sometimes underwear at me. BMW 320d.

It's the torque I think. More than a Yamaha R1. Beat that.

Z4 Coupe- loads of looks when in traffic. I suppose because there's not many around and its in quite an unusual grey as well and, kept very shiny!

Downside being I do get tailgated quite often and of course lots of people want a race at the lights!

Maserati 4200, thumbs up from other performance car drivers , lots of head turning as I approach but you can hear it coming 1/2 a mile away

MX5 , I overtook a van the other day , his hand gestures suggested something to do with me playing with myself though a fking wker is a bit of a contradiction

Peugeot 207GTi. Literally none, sometimes young guys or other folks in hot hatches acknowledge it.

Mitsubishi Shogun. The best vehicle, hands down for dispatching traffic. People notice a hell of a lot of it when its sitting 2m from there bumper well they do <50 in L2 of a dual carriagway i regularly commute on. Also gets a lot of looks when its covered from bumper to roof in mud biggrin.

Mini Clubman Cooper S where the original owner kinda went for it on the JCW options list. Noone notices apart from the odd (sometimes very odd) Mini fanboy.

A very nice, well preserved MGTF in Trophy Blue seems very popular with older men.

And finally a brand new spotlessly clean highly polished red FIAT 500 (partner's). Younger women notice it. The interest is in the car rather than the driver sadly. The only reaction I notice when they look at me is a slight surprise that a man is driving.

When I get to drive the Exige on the road it always gets a positive response, plenty of people have stopped me in petrol stations for a chat about the spec.

You could almost get away with wearing a Batman suit in that.

I get a fair bit of attention in my Volvo Amazon... people seem to love classics and are generally very positive. Everything from "nice car mate" to "here's my number - if you ever sell it let me know first".

Never had a car that people are so eager to let out of junctions etc. Handy bonus IMO!

Citroen C4 Cactus. A surprising amount of attention. And always positive (apart from my neighbour, who when I first brought it home, said "it's a disgrace what these garages hand out as courtesy cars nowadays."

When I first got it, the Albanians at the local hand car wash went mental. Straight on the phone to their mates, shouting down the phone "Caktoos Caktoos" and soon about 20 of them were all over it like baboons at a safari park.

Very odd.

The S1 111s gets attention and the odd person asking questions about it. I think people don't realise how small and low an S1 Elise is.

The Aygo and Captur do not get any attention at all ever!

Lotus Elise. Small boys turn and stare, thinking I am a rock star. Most other people just think I look like a c**k.
Summarises my experience perfectly. This happens particularly in town, or in traffic. Had a couple of people chat to me at petrol stations, but that's about it.

TVR - Again, pretty positive, but does get the odd look of disapproval from those who don't appreciate an unsilenced V8. My parents have taken it down to Monaco via all the twisty roads and sleepy villages and Dad is still getting used to quite how much attention the car is getting!

Not a lot, which sits well with me because I like it plenty.

The bloke who owns the local offie chats to me about it, as he's got an E46 325Ci as well (the drop-top version) and a few people at work notice me around and about because of it.

One lad at work, though, takes the biscuit.

Earlier this year, when returning from lunch, he sees me getting out of the car whilst he was walking across the car park. He stops, and waits for me and as I approach he says, 'That's a very smart car for a Welshman to be driving! Did you steal it?'

irked

Had plenty of looks, stares comments and sneers in my impreza, but the Elise even more so and entirely positive comments. Old, young, male or female the Lotus seems to appeal to people.

Never had people encouraging me to race in any of my cars though... Wondering if that really happens?!

KTM X-BOW. It's a bloody nightmare. Camera phone jockeys nearly crashing into each other on the motorway. stopped by the police several times. Why? No reason sir just wanted a look at the car WTF! Every single customs check possible! Why it hasn't even got a boot. Petrol stations are a barrage of stupid questions and yet more camera phones. Best policy is to keep the helmet on and take it out after dark.
I know how a zoo exhibit feels!
