I always get loads of attention. Unfortunately it's almost always from cars with these flashing blue light thingies on top.

M3 CSL.

Goes under the radar 99.9% of the time which, for me, is perfect.

V8 Vantage - no attention whatsoever.

Morgan Aero 8 - I may as well be naked, painted blue and shouting "look at me". Except in the Morgan, the attention is 100% positive and friendly, and doesn't involve jailtime/sex offenders' register.

Saab 900 Classic convertible - somewhere between the two.

At a funeral a few months back, one of the family thought my (very dark green almost black in the right light) Honda Legend was one of the funeral cortege cars. My friends nicknamed it the hearse ever since, though it's sadly now replaced by an awful French piece of crap that the wife can also drive.

Aside from that one incident, for what is a very rare car on UK roads it was incredibly anonymous for the most part. Though a former owner of one asked me what mpg I got at the garage once (16-17!!).

I drive a corsa...

literally everybody overtakes me, even though I'm driving at the speed limit..

people pull out on me like I'm not there,

just the other day, I was turning right and a car behind me thought it be nice to cut turn into the corner before me, nearly resulting in me crashing into the side of him, then five mins later a car overtook me on a hill thats barely wide enough for two cars to fit so if anything would of been coming the other way, that wouldnt of been nice to see.

Boxster.....people look now and again, but not necessarily in a good way.

Evo 8. Nobody gives a st.

Mk1 Toyota MR2. Unusual enough these days for the occasional double take.

Clio 200 Cup

I catch people looking at it all the time, they are quite a rare thing on the roads and so I guess not many people have seen them often. Had a few people comment that they like the car and never any negativity.

I drive a BM 2 series Active Tourer ( a 2 AT) and it really attracts attention, probably because most people recognise it as an award winning multi purpose high performance car. I was attracted to it by its RangeRover style and (almost) capabilities and BM on road performance and handling.

People just recognise it as a high-achiever's sort of car and you know that other road users respect you and view it enviously. Car choice is the best way of making your mark in the cut throat world we live in, and being one up on someone else in the car park is hugely important, especially in the industry I work in where image is so important.

It's unusual, a somewhat eye-catching colour (in the sun), loud and driven by the complete opposite to the stereotype. Tends to draw a lot of attention. People stop and point, on the rare occasion I find myself in a busy area in the car I get a few comments. Pleasantly the majority are positive. I remember being parked up once and seeing a young lad and his grandad peering into the car. They were both very complimentary and nice people, so I let them sit in the car and let the young lad rev it a little bit. We all went away with smiles on our faces, which is what cars like mine are supposed to do. Felt sorry for another young lad who was fawning over the car, but his mother whisked him away and said "don't go near those flashy cars, they're just driven by cocks". He looked quite sad staring out of the rear window of her 1998 Corsa. I was planning on pulling over to let him sit in the driver's seat.

Unsurprisingly, nobody looks twice at the Merc or MG. They're run-of-the-mill cars, and aside from the odd owner or enthusiast passing a quick compliment, nobody gives the everyday cars any attention. Fine by me.

I recently bought a Kia Magentis V6 (one of about 60 ever sold over here!) so rare and highly desirable... yeah right! No one ever takes the slightest notice of it - including me - and as it is always driven with a dogs head hanging out of either back window (living and attached to the rest of two dogs) I expected it to get the same attention as the other 4 door car I own.

It doesn't...

The other one gets thumbs up, people pointing and smiling and waving at the dogs and everyone talks to me whenever it's static. Most surprising, usual topic is fuel consumption or what it's worth.

The MX5 does get some looks as again, it always has two dogs in it, usually fighting for seat/window space and so makes people laugh. I feel it's my duty to bring a little cheer into folks lives smile

R34 GTR M Spec. Loads of finger pointing, picture taking and head turning. One of only 366 M Specs produced worldwide so pretty rare car. Other two cars BMW + Mercedes = forgettable.

Ditto. Mine's black and I love the anonymity. Sometimes I even forget where it's parked.

I was so used to going unnoticed that I was surprised by several well meant positive comments in one week when I drove to the North East. They didn't all come from enthusiasts either. Down South, no one bats an eyelid.

Mid-spec Ford Fiesta with no mods - Had someone come up to me and compliment the colour once (it's bright orange). Doesn't stand out too much but looks a bit different.

I have had admiring comments from several people, ranging from a bunch of young French & Italians on a working holiday to a white-haired, 70+ year old woman looking to buy one.

The vehicle? A 23 year old, 200,000+ mile Mitsubishi 4wd van that is used for towing duties, off road travel and general shedding.
