I have a TVR Chimaera, it gets a LOT of attention everywhere.

My 996 gets attention from people who are into cars, most people ignore it.

The 440i, just gets ignored.

I get loads of attention with this, but not for traditional reasons. It's mainly because I'm pretty much the only person in the area who washes their own car! Cue lots of "witty" comments and people craning their necks with slack-jawed amazement at the bloke who doesn't want to have brick acid rubbed in with a Brillo pad laugh

Out and about it's pretty much anonymous, which suits me. I do get the odd thumbs up from people who recognise what it is though.

My MX-5 used to get attention from small boys, generally under the age of 10 shouting to their dad , wow look at that! Like it was some thoroughbred race car.
Used to get a bit of appreciation from fellow petrol heads, general public couldn't care less and used to pull out of junctions in front of me more frequently, the only reason is because it's small and none threatening, and they are stupid and ignorant.

That’s lovely. The W202 is getting even better looking with each passing year

Thanks, usually people just want to talk about rust laugh

I'm obviously biased, but yeah I'm a big W202 fan. 30th anniversary this year too!

Everywhere this car goes it attracts attention.
Lost count of the conversations I've had with strangers about it but who doesn't have a Mini story, apart from anyone born in the last 20 years maybe? Before that everyone has been in one, learnt to drive in one, had one as their first car, Dad/Mum/Granny/Uncle etc. had one. Gets smiles, waves, thumbs up and headlight flashes on the road and more interest than a supercar attracts when parked up.

I’d definitely be chatting to you about it if I saw you !

Orange 1970’s Fiat 500 driven through central London every day.
Awful bloody car but got so much attention I had to sell it. Birds liked it though.
Kept under the radar after that with a 1967 Corvette.

2016 Mini Cooper S F55

I get attention because I’m a big chap in every sense, it’s a funny sight when I unfold myself from this thing, however 12 months ownership, 19,000 miles, averaging 40 mpg overall, it’s been comfortable reliable and enjoyable. Very happy with it!

Alfa Brera for weekends that has only done 800 miles in the last 12 months!

Ferrari F12 is a mobile drama queen. Never had a negative reaction to it and seems to be universally admired from kids to old ladies, have people come to a complete standstill to let me out of junctions, lots of window down, camera phones and thumbs up for the downshifts.

Alfa Romeo Guilia QV - gets lots of approving nods from those that know and former Alfa owners coming to talk about it.

my last few cars

MK2 Leon Cupra R (yellow) - a lot of other hot hatches wanting to race
MK3 Leon Cupra 280 (grey) - not as much attention
981 Cayman S (red) - few thumbs up, few wker signs, a lot of tailgating in 60 zones etc and some guy asking me how he can make his 718 cayman sound like that.

Saab 9-3 V6 sportwagon - generally not much attention, few "old boys" coming over for a chat, quite a few people pulling out on me

451 Smart CDI - absolutely everybody pulls out on me, even though I'm doing 60 in a 60 etc, then I overtake them when safe which winds them up more.

I currently drive a '17 plate debaged (it came that way) 530i SE in dark blue. Despite being fairly anonymous, I noticed people don't tend to whizz past me or overtake much. I then realised they might think it's an unmarked police car as it's exactly the type of thing that would probably be used as one...

A great read!

If you're thinking about further additions I would expect a S1 Lotus Exige would get some attention! As well as being brilliant fun to drive driving
I had an ‘06 Elise in non-metallic British Racing Green. Loved it, was a hard car to find here in the US in that colour. Think there were only maybe 11 of them ordered in BRG as opposed to many more that were spec’d in Lotus Racing Green which was metallic. Sold it circa 2015, shouldn’t have. But indeed was a brilliant drive!

My next import will most likely be a Vauxhall Lotus Carlton, speaking of “Lotus”..

Anyone know the whereabouts of 40 RA? biggrin
