Current black XFR has had most attention out of anything else I've had.

Gets looks from all different types of people, I think that's mainly because it just looks nice, they are a good looking car!

But have had a couple of people strike up a conversation about it being the R, general car people questions that I enjoy.

Only negative reaction I've had was from a Golf 7R owner who was driving at 45 on a NSL road with a queue of 5/6 cars behind.. He didn't like being overtaken! I came from 3 back and when he spotted me passing he put his boot in but was far too late. Then he flew up behind me practically on my back seat giving me the wker.

Chav chariot of choice.

Lots of attention in my old 997.1 viper green RS. Bit less in the 991RS. Zero in Cayenne,Smart,SL. Some in Jeep Wrangler which is gecko green. Conclusion is that colour matters.

I was out yesterday dropping a friend home in the golf and a Yamaha R1 pulls ups next to me at dual carriage way lights and revs the crap out of it, looking at me!
Get this type of thing surprisingly often. It's a black mk6 R with white wheels.
Quite a few comments at petrol stations generally all very positive, nice to meet people

If you like meeting guys in petrol stations!

MX-5 Mk3

I usually get a friendly wave from other MX-5 owners, although I have felt a bit of a cretin when I have instigated the wave and it hasn't been reciprocated.

My father has a Mk1 MX-5 he has owned from new, pristine condition etc etc and he seemingly gets lots of comments now, non MX-5 drivers included.

Loads of attention in the Dax - always people chatting at petrol stations, kids waving as I go past, people taking pics in traffic. Always positive so far as well, which is nice.

Purple TVR Cerbera and bright blue Jag XFR-S.

Nobody notices or cares really. In all the time I've had them I think the Cerbera has attracted about 4 comments or "rev it" type hand gestures as though mimicking a pedal, and a tanker driver asked about the Jag once whilst filling up.

By and large though, nobody's interested in other peoples' car choices smile

In the Midget I get waved at by old blokes in Midgets.

In the Focus not so much.

Purple TVR Tuscan - people in the UK have a good look but don't say much.. In Europe it's like being a celebrity - people come for a chat, take pictures, etc... it's great fun :-)

Silver 350z HR - nobody says anything.

I drive an Arden Blue Astra J (GTC) VXR. No where near the coolest car on this thread - in fact looked down on by PH's.

-- I do not or have never owned a baseball cap. I'm 28 years old and I have a job.

It gets loads of attention. I get a lot of comments in car parks / petrol stations. I do get a lot of idiots in corsas and fiestas trying to race me as well.

Lotus Elise. Small boys turn and stare, thinking I am a rock star. Most other people just think I look like a c**k.

Audi S1.
Not much attention at all really, which I like. Apart from the odd smile from people who know what it is, to most its just a small Audi.

Black 1M Coupe - Couple of lads at work love it and get annoyed when its not in the carpark when i commute on my pushbike.

A few double-takes here and there, but never had a nod, thumbs up, nice car, approached for a chat, or anything like that.

Like someone said earlier, I'm invisible in the Passat so I have to drive for everyone else as it's completely ignored. A few days ago, I had a woman look directly at me before stepping into the road in front of me and quite leisurely, crossed to the other side.

In the Alpina, I get a lot of attention, principally due to the fact E34's are a very rare sight - especially when in good order and dressed in Alpina stripes. Points, nods and waves is all good to me.

In the Aston, it's a polarising affair. On one hand, there's a lot of positive attention from women around 45/50 that try to strike up conversation where possible.
On the other hand, the vast majority of hot hatches I come in to contact with are piloted by oiks who attempt to goad me into racing at every opportunity they can muster.

C63 in taxi silver blended in and never raised a brow. Then I'd take off/start it/drive passed.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo was a tank and rarely went unnoticed.
S5 always had a positive reaction.
The Alpina would get a 'what is it?' look or a nod.

My current BMW convertible awards me looks of....'That reminds me...I must make an appointment at the hairdressers'

There's been others of similar boring tales.

Smart Roadster with some subtle mods.

Bearded men seem to want to talk about it, many think it must be a kit car or something.

That said women absolutely love the thing and also want to talk about it which breaks the ice pretty well so it's a good conversation starter all around.

People do double take quite often as it goes past, sometimes have a laugh at the 6'2" bloke jumping out of it, idiots race it (c'mon, beating an 80bhp smart car in a drag race doesn't really offer much sport...) and bizarrely it almost always gets let out at junctions.

The Indy gets too much attention, almost all positive though. Pull up to the petrol station and people always come over to talk about it (none of my other cars get this), people accost me on my drive about it, people gawp at it from passing cars and you get sad little men trying to race you in diesel MPVs.

The Golf doesn't get anywhere near as much attention, it is limited to those who recognise what it is and decide to race it, I usually ignore them.

The MX-5 usually gets similar treatment to the Golf but it is let out far more often from junctions and the like.

The XC90 has really surprised me, I get similar treatment to the MX-5 with junctions, not something I was expecting from a large SUV.

If I'm out in a TVR, people look at the car. And that's fair enough. So would I.

If I'm out in the Range Rover people look at ME! I suppose it's to check if I'm 'someone'. And I certainly am not hehe.
Mrs Swiss wanted a 'nice car' as she was fed up with the 12 y/o shed we had kept for 9 years. I quite liked that car (a Mk1 Citroen C5) because it was utterly invisible.

The sweet-spot is my SL55. To civilians its just an old Merc and gets zero attention. To a PH types its an interesting car. And to me it's a comfortable, daily wolf in sheep's clothing.
