How Much To Hire The Nurburgring?
Discussion
When you find out can you report back with prices and availabilty? Its a question I've often wondered myself- not that I'm ever going to hire it, just idle curiosity!
When I crashed there on a tourist day a few years ago, I was arguing about how much damage I'd actually caused, the guys in the office suggested closing the track for us to make a proper inspection. I think they said I'd be charged a few thousand Euros per hour. I cant remember the actual amount as I was in shock at their costs and just paid the 450Euros for 1 section of barrier!

it's 1350 Eur per hour, if it's closed due to an accident, but I don't think it has any relation to hiring priceWhen I crashed there on a tourist day a few years ago, I was arguing about how much damage I'd actually caused, the guys in the office suggested closing the track for us to make a proper inspection. The last time we enquired (about 4 years ago), it was around £35,000 for the day, and we were planning on splitting that cost between 50 friends/colleagues so that the only knobbers we had on track were ones we knew and could handle.
It never got further than that, as every time we asked for a date we were told we'd have to wait until all the big boys* had taken their pick. I think we were ultimately offered late cancellation about 3 days before the date, which was a bit useless.

- the big boys are the industry pool, the race organisers, the owners and the big track day companies.

According to the web a Track Day costs around €2000 per car and is limited to 120 cars.
2000 euros to hire the circuit for exclusive use? Looking at one of those more affordable TDOs, their revenue from the day is less than £100k, so taking into account other organising costs and profit margin, you're probably looking at somewhere in the £50-60k ballpark for a day of exclusive track hire.
However, as someone already mentioned, actually getting a day is easier said than done. The circuit is in high demand, and private punters are pretty far down the food chain when it comes to allocations.

a brief conversation with dale lomas a couple of years later suggested while the cost would be reasonable, the chances of hiring the track for a bike trackday by non german organisers was slim to none.

I did but, only got this responseThanks for your email. I assume you are looking at coming over in 2017? Unfortunately, track opening times only start getting released towards the end of January, so there is not much we can book now. In the meantime though, take a look here for more information on VIP packages and Road Tours etc - http://www.rsrnurburg.com/product/vip-luxury-getaw... and http://www.rsrnurburg.com/page/road-tour-overview
I have made a note to contact you as soon as dates start coming through but let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
Warmest Regards,
