I saw an Aston in exactly this colour combo going past the Nurburgring car park. It was out of the corner of my eye and it did not look good. Having had time to reflect on these stills, it loos even worse.

And it's not just that 'spacker chariot racing blue' (more PC descriptions available from someone more erudite) colur either. Although it definitely does not help. The DB11 looks very heavy - like a Zagato version of an SLS.

Revisiting this 24hrs or so on, it looks like the majority of posters feel that AM have metaphorically aimed their arrow blindfolded, and the result is wide of the mark.
Surely to goodness they will look at feedback like this and readjust their press cars to a more acceptable level whereby people like us don't slate the asthetics, but praise the dynamics.
Terrible colour and trim choices have blinded us as to whether the car is actually a good GT (and certainly never a competitor to the 911 other than on price)
I would reiterate that AM really need to get a grip on his, because, as the old adage goes, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression; as a counterpoint, we don't have Porsche presenting the 911 in an obscure combination of body colour, interior trim and wheels do we...?

The colour highlights how ugly the Aston is. A real let-down compared to the last generation in my opinion.

I can't really describe why the aesthetics fail in my eyes, other than to say it looks very top heavy. It might not look amiss with a Mercedes or Bentley grill even, but as an Aston, it looks decidedly lardy, and not in that imposing, Gentleman thug way of mid 80s V8 Astons. It really does look like a re-skinned Mercedes AMG SLS. Which is worrying.

That square binnacle over the dials looks like something from the 70s or 80s.

All those lovely curves in that cabin, which I like, are spoilt by that binnacle IMO.

Also the contrasting roof doesn't seem to do it any favours like they do on the Ferrari 599 and the side blades on the R8 - which help with the visual weight of the car.
Body colour? Don't mind if I do...

We should have got the DB10 instead. It looked far better than this, although it did seem like a Vantage sized car - obviously not seen one in metal.
I have....and personally think the DB11 is far prettier.... Db10 has weird nose and as you say is much smaller too.....

Db11 Looks fabulous in the metal.....these pics just look odd.

I think the front end is nice, if not quite as handsome as the DB9; the inside is nice. I just don't like that rear end at all!

There are so many irregularities.

-The car appears to be jacked up above the wheels
-The rear and front ends are over fussy
-The two tone colour thing removes any cohesiveness the overall design might have
-Overstyled in every way
-The alloy wheels look like cheap knock offs

You get the sense the designers spent far too long looking at the minor details and forgot to stand back every so often and utter those fateful words of..."oh bks"

Blimey! That must be the most spartan Porsche options list in history! They still managed to charge £122 for isofix though. Form is temporary etc.

The Porsche is, to all intents and purposes, an irrelevance in this thread. Basically, it's a 911 turbo; so if you want the latest/newest/fastest(?) version of this hardy perennial, with a full Porsche Warranty, then there's little else to discuss.

That it's being compared to the Aston is neither here nor there - there's plenty else that's similarly priced and probably more comparable, but that misses the point; this Aston is the real topic for debate.

Guess it depends on the question being asked?

Not direct rivals, as they don't answer the same question.

Which would I prefer of the two? I'd take the 911.

Bit if broader choices were available, it'd be a Litchfield GTR without question. With the change, you could buy yourself a luxury car as well, if you had to have one.

Aston does look different (saw one in Waitrose yesterday!) and modern but the Porsche is simply timeless........... I know if your paying £150k some may not worry about servicing and reliability but I do, to service my Porsche is generally about £400, On my last Aston a simple service was over £1200. Alsi imagine 50k miles on - food for thought.........

I hope the DB11, benefits from the same dose of aggression the DBS added to the DB9.

I can imagine with some aggressive styling tweaks, and in the right colour the DB11 will morph into a thing of joy.

Would be interested to see a quantum silver DB11 on some of the latest vanquish alloys with a slight drop in ride height.
Or i could wait until some rapper decides to have a slammed one in a video to see what could be done with the styling hehe

It wasn't that long ago that the complaint about Astons was how they all look alike - an accusation that has somewhat oddly never been aimed at Porsche despite it being more than appropriate.

Here we have a new look and the complaints still come. Ho hum.

Always been a massive Aston fan, and am a massive Porsche fan too. Not too sure on the design of the Aston though and like others don't get that colour scheme, does it no favours at all. :-/
