Of course it won't just be a rebadged Navara.

It'll be a rebadged Navara with a slightly different interior. And a MUCH bigger price tag.

Aren't these less about the 'ring; and more about how quickly you can dump a fridge in a layby?

At last something they might make their massive corporate grille look in proportion.

That's pretty shocking but will be top of the landscape gardeners list that's for sure.

Some people on here are quite short sighted.
Some people who require a van for their profession still want to be able to cruise in comfort at 70mph. Mercedes has made vans for these people for ages.

The same could be said for pick ups I guess. It'll be a niche market but it could mean that people who need a pick up can buy something nice instead of purely utilitarian.

Ugh love pickups, hate the 'luxury trucks' which have been trickling in to our market. Atleast the Chinese are slowly moving in to fill the void when all the manufacturers decide theres more money in making 'lifestyle' vehicles rather than work vehicles, similar thing happened in the us over the last ~20 years with diesel trucks going from ~$25k spartan things to ~$75k luxury saloons on stilts. Sucks if you want to buy a truck for actual work in the US now as you are either saddled with base models with low power output petrols and slushboxes or pay the premium to get a proper engine for towing and the million and one luxury features glued on.

....and a completely different body, engine & gearbox. Yeah, it'll basically be a Navara rolleyes

Might work in this country for people with more money than sense but I doubt there will be many Americans that would choose this with a V6 over all the huge V8 they can buy. Well until they do an AMG at least.

Love the wheels but can't help thinking they would be better placed on a f150.
The bed on the yellow one looks next to useless with the perforated tail gate, but I guess they don't want to have to wait for rust to take hold before stuff rolls out of the back

I'll be interested to see prices. Despite bad experiences with a Navara in the past, I like this a lot

There are no V8s in US market trucks in this class, at least as far as I know since the Dodge Dakota went west

Tax breaks, practicality for certain professions, with comfort and a bit of luxury and can be used as the family hack and mutts for weekends. What's not to like.

Would have kept my Raptor if it wasn't for the 12 mpg biggrin (should have kept my Raptor anyway banghead )

At least the Navara doesn't look like it knocked up a Citroen Cactus

I guess Ford might have something to say about using the model name Explorer, or is it really called 'Stylish Explorer'?

Isn't this just a Navara with a party hat on?
Yes it is, unfortunately that does make the V8 AMG version a little unlikely frown

I like them both apart from the backs, I imagine those will both change for the final production version

So what is the X-Class? It comes from Daimler AG's relationship with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, meaning it shares a platform with the Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan, along with a factory in Barcelona.
This sounds a lot like platform sharing, which of course isn't badge engineering per se, but could be.
