Ive got a HKS exhaust (on S2000) that the middle silencer has failed, the rest is still in good condition.

I was thinking of just having a straight through pipe made to bypass the middle silencer.

I popped into a custom exhaust place today to see how much this would cost, and was a little surprised to the cost.

Apparently the exhaust flanges on their own are £200, total cost around £400 if all goes ok. yikes

So is this how much this should cost?

Otherwise can anyone recommend somewhere around Bristol/gloucestershire area who may do this for a more reasonable charge?

Cheers

Speak to Infinity Exhausts in Bristol.

They built a Complete Custom System for both Me and My Dad for less than that!

can't they use the flanges from the existing piece you are replacing?

No one other than you wants to listen to a 4 cylinder fart cannon. Stop being a chav and fit the proper exhaust.
The only thing more chav than replacing silencers with straigh pipes is greeting about the price of tubes.

Attempting to provoke people.......

OP: do you have a HKS Hi Power twin system like this:

or this

In either case if the small silencer after the cat and before the divide to two pipes needs replacing I fail to see why an exhaust specialist would have difficulty.

Fancy gasket-Less v-band clamps kits are only £30 each, standard flanges cost far less. I'd say it should be around £150 all in for a simple silencer replacement pipe.

I hadn't realised bigging up the chav credentials was so expensive. Innit.

should be £150 anyday OP.

Ignore the old men saying "fart cannon" and "chav" like their sense of humour, they are stuck in the 1970's. Jap car fans are the largest enthusiast group in the UK now even if the old men dont like to think so, not mention the F20C actually sounds nice and a HKS system is a very nice piece of kit.

Very jealous OP smile

Good stuff, they would probably straight pipe that for about £70 or replicate the lot with Silencer aswell...

They have a Facebook page also https://www.facebook.com/Infinity.Exhausts

As an example 2" Stainless is £95 for 6 metres, so work it out from there.

To be fair i've never heard a decent sounding Honda. They all just sound like fart cannons. No pops or bangs or anything, pretty boring. But to each his own and all that

No, i'm definitely on the right site. I'm just not a S2000 fanboy. Don't get me wrong I love the fact the Honda make high revving engines as i've got an NA hot hatch myself, but they don't sound that great. Neither does my car or any 4 cylinder engine. But that's just my opinion. What's sad is the posts above this one, but considering this site has visitors who have an IQ in the single digits, it doesn't bother me in the slightest laugh

About fifteen minutes labour and a short bit of straight pipe. Cut, cut, weld, weld. Job jobbed.
