I cleaned, clay'd and waxed my car about 4 weeks ago with the intention of not cleaning it through winter, this is mine as of tonight;
No before images.
Sometimes the temptation to clean gets too much...

I think your fuel nozzle aim is out. No before images.

Bit of spray n pray?
I've booked it in for its first MOT at a main dealer as I want some warranty working doing - will have to request they don't clean it...
Gave in today. It had been cleaned only a month ago but with the state of the local roads it soon looks like this, now clayed and waxed again! Passing some roadworks which sprayed an "oily" substance all over the car prompted the wash otherwise I'd probably have left it a while longer.

The trick I tired the other day was to get one of those cable tie plastic with a metal core thingies, the kind of thing that comes wrapping up cables on consumer electronics and of which inexplicably I seem to have 1,000 in my garage. Using a cable stripper, took about 5cm off it and the remaining wire was just the right size to wiggle into the washers to clean them out and to position them appropriately.
Nice detail, I may look for one. Needles / pins aren't much cop. Too weak. What mileage has your blue RS4 done? I love them in blue, hard to keep immaculate (bit like your post!) but they look a million dollars when pristine.
Done about 78k miles; the Mugello blue colour is lovely, especially when sparkling clean. But then it shows all the stone chips off in sharp contrast. So the solution is just to leave it as is

And with that, let's see some more pictures of them dirty hoo-ers...

If your profile's up to date I'd probably agree with you. The midlands aren't known for prolonged freezes.
I live in an AB53 post code though, and Aberdeenshire in general can consistently hover around those temperatures. It's been around -5deg C in the mornings when I've left for work and by the time the sun has done all the warming it's going to do, it'll be up to about +3 deg.
It's more the dazzling tranferal of responsibilities onto the local authorities that bemuses me with some of my locals. I'd have thought that ensuring you were ok if the council driver didn't show up would be socially acceptable, but it's much more fashionable to head out ill equipped, crash then point the finger at someone else!
Any way though - our other car this winter is now fully road legal and has had 2 days' use since starting relatively clean from its stay in the garage. This is why I don't waste time cleaning cars:
With AWD and suitable rubber it's taking all the local icy slopes the MPSS clad XFR-S was getting bum-puckering on with ease.
But if its that dirty after 2 days imagine what it'll be like after 2-3 months of no cleaning?I live in an AB53 post code though, and Aberdeenshire in general can consistently hover around those temperatures. I can't stand it when every time I open the door, boot or brush against it in a car park I end up with filth all over my hands or clothes that inevitably ends up all over the interior when you get in. At least cleaning it regularly means it doesn't build up to that extent IME.
The thing is though that mud etc isn't acculumated all that progressively here. I've genuinely pulled out of my driveway in the TVR once with it gleaming for an all-day polishing session, and within 200 yards of the end of my driveway encountered a mass of mud covering the whole width of the road, caused by a largish vehicle running off the edge of the tarmac and ripping up the earth beside and dragging/spraying it all over the road. There was mud up the door mirrors within seconds of leaving the driveway.
As far as keeping clothing clean, we've simply learned not to brush against the outside of the car. In the middle of summer if it's warm and dry for a while it can be ok, but in winter time round here the car usually has a lot of dirt on it after one drive. It doesn't really get much worse after one hundred drives, but it goes from clean to filthy in one drive. So by my reckoning, it's a complete waste of time trying to keep it clean.
We've also got to be careful the doors and handles don't freeze from the wash water running around the outside of seals etc - I've done that before more than once. HUGELY annoying!

Seldom see a dirty car these days, we have car washes everywhere. I am the only person in our street who cleans his own cars, I am probably sad, but I enjoy cleaning them, and I think I do a better job.
You are guaranteed to do a better job than those spinning scratchy things of death.Unless you clean your car or someone elses with meths and a scotch pad.. like that idiot in that other thread..
Yeah , I do my own . Watching the local wash n go clowns sanding down the paintwork put's me off , most (but not all) of these type of establishments have never considered using a grit tray for the wash mitt . Go from car to car with the same mitt dunked in 4 inches of gravely ditch water . Shame , there's some lovely motors going through .
