Best smoker barges 1-5 large [vol11]
Discussion
this thread really is just a nice big mug of tea and a chocolate hobnob in a forum full of stress, bravo gentlemen (although it does mean I am now willfully neglecting my current car in the hope that there'll be too many things that need done come service time in a month or two and I can join your ranks)

Welcome. What catches you eye?Looks like a nice thing to bumble around in, carrying the hound. (Photoshop notwithstanding.)

I've noticed that too, - it's like a different forum.I've had sporty, manual, cars ever since I first started driving, - the barge I brought a year and a half ago is the first I've owned of it's kind, and it has changed my driving style

Ain't that the truth. My LS400 is the perfect antidote to the pace of London. Soothes the soul rather than ignites it, and that is just fine.0a said:

A big thing for me as well is the sound proofing. A 4 hour motorway journey in my old S2000 left me knackered, - 4 hours in the LS430 and I'm as fresh as a daisy

What a lovely comment!Just tell yourself that these cars are not depreciating. Such logic leads to a collection that drains your wallet though...

Was it on this thread that someone posted the Japanese one with the covered rear wheels and the different wheels? It looked fantastic.
edit for pic;
That does look fantastic. I wonder if through manipulation of the offsets or rear suspension those spats might be made completely flush.edit for pic;
Great wheels. They'd look good on lots of things.

Is there a similar thread "man" for fixing the oily bits on w124s? I live in Bath and I've seen a couple of local (ish) places with reasonable prices and reputations but interested if there are other options.
While your car is in Gateshead, you might want to send it to Baister at Staithes Garage, just round the corner. While undoubtedly sloppy in oh-so-many respects, nobody can better diagnose and repair Mercs of this vintage than him. And he's cheap. I have a chum who drives his 107 up from London, gets the train back, then returns a few weeks later to collect. You just have to hassle him a lot about deadlines.0a said:
That's an absolute steal. I thought the 3 months wages' 850's were long gone.Even for the rough/Cat D 40's are 34K.
Wonder if the vendor has any use of a 996 C4....!?

In one and the same breath he was abusing his apprentice son and complimenting Zoner's second 129. "fkin' stone mint underneath, like".
The gold 126 has to be seen to be believed. An over-used phrase but appropriate here: it is 100% museum quality. If it were a 560 it would be £20k all day long. I've some pictures of the engine bay, I'll try to dig them out.
Isn't the 850 a sad reminder of how elegant top notch motoring once was. What is going on? Why is it all psycho-aggression these days?
Edit: here it is. This was on an ordinary wet day. Not prep'd for some car show or anything like that.
