Very tempting. Someone buy it so that I don't have to.
BARGE HELP WANTED
If any of you have a W220 or W215 S-Class can you help me out with a photo of the ABC level sensor installation on the front driver and passenger side.
It is an easy picture to get, set the ABC to its highest level and the sensor and associated arm should be clearly visible on the upper suspension wishbone. In sketch form (from the rear of the car) it looks something like this
I spent an hour trying to sort the level on my W220 last night with no joy, I now think the sensor may have been refitted incorrectly when I had the front suspension re-built.

Not mine, but any help?
An excellent post from BenzWorld: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w220-s-class/15038...
More detail in the post, but it quotes another user who identifies bracket orientation and a mis-alignment causing height issues.

Very much so, I would be amazed if the tab mentioned in the Benzworld thread is not the problem. I have rotated the sensor off the car so know it can put out the correct Voltage so a mis-rotated sensor makes absolute sense.
Thank you, I will report back tomorrow when I have had a go at a fix (assuming a dry evening)

The Jag has a nice plate and sounds OK, but I don't like the XK8 wheels and I agree that SORN is an off-putter. What does the MOT history look like?
I think dark green is a bit dull and a bit too anonymous but I bet it polishes up nicely and looks great in the sunshine.
I probably wouldn't buy it, but for 2 grand you can't go too far wrong.
Those wheels are standard fit "celtic" alloys for an early XJ8, despite what the seller says. I'm 99% sure they are 17" too. They are a bit weird looking and don't suit the car at all.I think dark green is a bit dull and a bit too anonymous but I bet it polishes up nicely and looks great in the sunshine.

If that isn't rotten, the engine isn't showing signs of tensioner problems, and the gearbox shifts smoothly then it's a bargain.

This looks okay, 4.0 litre car (but the SORN status always worries me)... http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XJ-4-0-XJ8-4dr-Full...
£2k and that's a steal! Owned since 2001 and he's only the second owner. Looks like decent quality tyres and he'll put it through an MOT before it goes.Best £2k you could spend. And would be equal or superior to any sub £5k Merc.

Fresh Barge Announcement.
XJ40 gone a few weeks ago. A fairly ropey example of a great model. But poor timing means we're parting ways. I WILL have another, one day. Anyone who values ride-comfort over everything simply HAS to try an XJ40. What a superb way to lope around.
Anyway, bygones. 'New' car here. It's as big as it is boring. And it's very big.
It's also a smidge over budget, so I'd beg the indulgence of the more conformist wing of our merry little band of non-conformists to permit me to post it in here, rather than in the sensory deprivation chamber of the 5-20ers. (Only kidding, 5-20ers, you're still great craic. Money hasn't changed you. Pass the myrrh.)
Stand by for more news once I've taken a couple of snaps.

Did you have a thread on your '40 SJ? I really want one before they go stratospheric when the cheap ones are all dead.
If the Series III is anything to go by, it will be a very long time indeed (if ever) before even the nicest XJ40 can sell for more than a couple of grand.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
