All of the wants are belong to me. Love the colour, is that an Individual spec? Never seen it on a 36 before. If only it were Spanish.

This is a man for whom the Mercedes aftershave is made for
Great quip which deserved highlighting. 'Faux Barge'® - combining the whiff of 'Back to Black' and Brasso, an aftertaste of four star and transmission fluid, but the lingering warmth of dermatitis. For the discerning bargiste on a budget, for whom the supple leather and chromed switchgear are to be savoured, who can only access the contents of said bottle by first pressing the cap before unscrewing...or should it be a ring-pull?
I'll get the artwork sorted once I've found a suitably seventies theme (beige, more beige, flares, orange hues, Mateus Rose bottle with candle artfully burned down etc etc).

I guess that's an Alpina of some sort, but the BMW model, E-whatever, of that 3 series was just about my least favourite BMW ever. Ugly, snout-nosed and graceless. The ones that preceded and then followed it were much better.
I started to think like that when the E46 came out to replace it, but compared to the rivals at the time it's a hell of a good looking car. The Audi 80 looks dull beside it and the Mercedes 190 and C-Class were just a bit horrid anyway.Jimmy Recard said:
Just testing my luck, the 190 was fine
I'm more of a Mercedes fan than a BMW fan, but I couldn't have an original C-Class over an E36 3-Series.
That said, I don't really follow any particular marque
I generally operate a broad barging church, but I think I'd rather catch a tropical disease than buy a W202.I'm more of a Mercedes fan than a BMW fan, but I couldn't have an original C-Class over an E36 3-Series.

Under rated cars the W202. I've had 3 of them including a C36 AMG. Very solid and well built in my opinion but do suffer the usual Merc rust woes. This months 'Mercedes Enthusiast' has a piece on the early W202 becoming a modern classic. E24man said:
of late the E36 has grown on me; the straight clean lines can now be likened to defined and reserved sinews in comparison to the overly developed musculature of the E46, a peak condition Hagler to a bloated Tyson as it were.
Plus they don't rip their boot floors out. I've always rather liked the E36 for its smallness and smoothness and delicacy of detail. In modern traffic it is like a minnow amidst a pond full of puffed-up bullfrogs.
Whilst well outside of thread budget, I keep getting a disturbing level of desire for one of these

I really like that, and both car and seller come across as honest and genuine. Very tempted. Some of the Alpinista get a bit sniffy about the B2.5 being just a dealer fit bolt-on kit: all I see is an already good base car enhanced with a few proper bits to make it better in all areas. Fine by me. And manual 'box tops it off: I've only ever seen one "proper" B3 for sale without the slurring slushtronic box. Fine in a 5 or 7 series, not so much in an E36.
