All, viewing a non barge/mini barge cabriolet tomorrow - a 2003 CLK55 AMG. Any knowledge? Cheers in advance! (for those that don't remember, last year I had a '52 CL500 which I liked but it did worry me a bit!)
Sorry for late reply. I had the fixed head model on a 53 plate so can offer info on non scuttle shake matters.
What did you think, did you buy it?

Chaps, looking at buying one of those portable power banks that will jump start a car. Does anybody own one or recommend what or what not to buy?

I was initially cynical about them until I saw one around the size of a smartphone kick start our dead fork lift truck into life. I was so impressed I forgot to ask the guy where it was from.
I have this from amazon, (was £69 when I got it). Great bit of kit. Charged a couple of phones all weekend on a camping trip then started the V8 and still showed a full '4 bars' of power.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/20000mAh-Emergency-Ultra-...
Just to follow up, I bought one of these last week. Purposely let the battery on the LS400 run down until it was as flat as a pancake and gave it a go, which subsequently kicked it into life first time. Impressive.

I was so enamoured I absent-mindedly left the new gadget on the wall next to the driveway and toddled off into the nearest town a few miles away to pick up the usual Friday night takeaway ruby and some groceries, without considering until I parked up that the alternator would probably not sufficiently charge the battery and restart the car. So leaving the car ticking over quietly in the car park whilst I went shopping probably wasn't the most sensible thing to do, but at least gives another good reason for owning an old and worthless car.
Gents, I hear what you're saying about jump starting a car from something the size of a fag packet .... I just can't get my brain to wrap around it.

2007 Phaeton anybody? I know its an oil burner and high mileage but could be cheap.

Phaeton

The speedo going up to 200mph must be some attempt at humour by it's German maker.
I expect the gubbins behind it and calibration are common to the bentley.

VW claimed that a derestricted W12 Phaeton would crack 300km/h, hence fitting a 320km/h speedo (rounded for mph obvs).

Swedish mini barge here

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

It's the later 2.4 T5 in old man gold with complimentary beige seats and wood trim. Soft leather upgrade, power seats both sides, lots of other options judging by all the buttons at the bottom of the console too. It also sneaks in to the 55 plate registration before the spiteful £500+ road tax.

If even has the HU-850 upgraded audio option!

Bonus Marginally-Relevant Japanese Import R129 Trivia: they have a different shape and placement for the aerial antennae and grommets in the N/S rear panel - slightly higher and more rounded.

Carry on.
I think it quite wrong that this vital information should go unremarked upon for almost 24 hours.

I really like that, would be super comfortable and brisk enough when required.

I've been making some difficult barge decisions over the last few days, the r129 and the integra have to go. Now to pull the adverts together. 129 values seem to be all over the place, which makes pricing it difficult.

Here's an ex-Japan 1994 SL500 that's barely turned a wheel and is for sale at £POA with a prominent dealer.

It has no E/S switch.

I can breathe the quality from just looking at this photo. I can't begin to imagine how satisfied I would feel cruising about in this.

My A124 is up for sale too, and 0a is looking to sell some of his fleet - we ought to have a thread sale! I've sold a handful of cars to other PH-ers and have rather like doing it that way.

I bought and sold my E38 to/from a PHer, my E65 was bought from Cat220, sold to someone also on PH, and now it's gone back to cat220 hehe

It may be because I'm of a certain age now, but that has a lot of appeal.

I get that...

They're brisk things, very strong in the mid range, and a cheeky remap will see 300bhp from it. I love a granddad sleeper. Shame it's not a V70, but finding a late T5 without intergalactic mileage and a stink of wet dog is close to impossible.

I like the smaller rear plate aperture; my 4 digit-er would fit perfectly. Wonder what the P in the POA is; start with a 2 or a 3? Or maybe even a (gasps) 4?
