With the new Volvo V90 now starting to show up on Autotrader, the numbers of them in the search are misleading if you're in the barge market. There's only one "proper" V90 on at the moment:

I like it, but it seems a bit pricey.

Buy unseen, get it delivered. Tis the bargeist way.
Two of my last three have been bought unseen (1 was great, the...alright..ish), not entirely sure how it would work with a private seller though?

I am actually in the market for another dog carrier, but in reality, something newer than the Omega.

But then agian... gaps need filling hehe

I like that too, but yes, it does seem expensive. Especially compared to the low mileage, bag of sand Omega!

This is over budget, being listed at £5,800, but there is probably some haggling to be done.

Not sure where you'd start though. What could you mention in the negotiations? scratchchin

2010 Volvo V70 3.0 T6 SE Geartronic AWD

hehe

Probably the Geartronic AWD bit, right?

Ring McLaughlin's in L/Derry. Probably about £350 to your door, max. They're over & back at least weekly I believe.

Really not worth the hassle of going to get it yourself, trust me! After the disasters I've had buying cars in GB and going over to collect, I wish I'd thought of it before!
Hang on, let's start again.

I read your post as "how hard it is to get 'IT' to Dungannon?", so thought you were in Dungannon and the car somewhere in GB.

According to your profile you're in Glasgow, so I would think there are bound to be lots of hauliers at your side that would do it for you for around the £250 or so quoted by Golfer19?

Otherwise, flights Glasgow to Belfast Internat'l are cheap & frequent, likewise to Belfast City. Belfast Int to D/gannon is about 40 miles by road, surely the vendor would meet you at the airport?

If not, then fly Belfast City, short train or airport bus to city centre (10-15 mins) then under 1 hour on the bus to D/g. Or fly Belfast Int, bus to city centre (45 min) and the same bus to D/g.

Then 45 miles to the Belfast to Cairnryan ferry terminal, then ferry (£80-90 & 2 1/4 hrs) and your drive back up.

Nah, forget it! Get it delivered.

Good find, but you could probably mention the interior in st state, wheels look ferked, and it doesn't exactly looked 'prepped for sale'.

I like how they bothered to wrap it, but didn't manage to clean out the urine stains from the last person caught doing 120.

Cloth seats, high mileage, wrap hiding many sins. That is almost certainly an ex police car. The early T6 was only 280bhp, later models were 300bhp and quite a bit more efficient, from memory they went to direct injection.

Consecutive plates and a potential business in bargists' funerals.
Did we have these a while ago? Or was that a different matched pair.

Very, very nice. I'd started to get my hopes set on a manual, but that's just fantastic. I'm off to do a bit of digging. I'm away to Rome soon so if I'm going ahead on it, I'll have to fit it around that

I found this a while ago, from Autocar in 1994. Reinforced my memories of the Omega V6 as a really good car:

If you can look past the horrible plate-based guff, this later C215 500 looks rather good.

Nice car, absolutely bizarre claims for a very ordinary registration plate. Sort of ruins the ad by making one think the vendor is mentally ill.

Car looks nice. But:

In Rotherham. And not the posh end.
Personal car, but for sale by 'Lexus Sales'
Who sells Lexuseses and gold chains on eBay
And buys things from 'pleasuretoys'
And calls himself 'Jai'
He's had it for 20 minutes and is selling it because he needs the money.
He's got one key, but he'll forward you the other one when he finds it.
And he has written a grossly over-wrought brain-splodge of an advert.

Not serviced for half its life, but it's ok, because:

Jai said:
Then owned and driven sparingly circa 1000 to 1500 miles a year, by a mature retired enthusiast gentleman esquire and his lady wife, as his "fourth occasional use car", since ownership from July 2011. I can see that he has had more pleasure in keeping this car in a highly cared for condition and spending more money on it, than actually driving it. I quote "It adds to my driveway value"
The search continues...

Not sure how I had a brain-fart over the SH, apologies. I'd probably still go and look at it, I'm a glutton for punishment. biggrin

In fairness, the car looks lovely, and it isn't expensive.

It's just difficult for an arse like me to not react to such a terrible advert!

But at least he's "honest" in the location of the photos - he's taken them in his driveway to give you a real feel for the area, rather than putting the car in front of the local stately home... smile

It does look tidy.

ETA: the car, that is, not the location! smile

Dear beards. Any reason I shouldn't immediately rush out and buy an 06 C6 Audi A6 Avant 4.2 Quattro for less than top thread budget? Car itself looks great, I'm just looking at any pitfalls on these particular ones and my Audi beard is mere bumfluff. The only thing I know is to watch out for Multichronic CVT boxes and I believe that this one, being a Quattro, will have a convention auto... is that right?
Update for anyone interested - going to look at it tomorrow after work.

It's this one. I'm attracted by the high-ish spec, decent history, and the fact it looks like a 1.9tdi!

Anything I'm missing?

I know little about these car to offer useful advice, but it's attractive in being so plain jane but fast. Good choice if you go for it.

Does this represent good value for money?

That is very cheap for a facelift diesel. Belts just done too, although the one at the back for the fuel pump is due at 150k. As a Jaguar I wouldn't worry about reaching 150k and having to change that belt though hehe

The engine is smooth, but not quick and just when it feels like it's getting it's act together it runs out of revs and shifts up. Always felt like it needed another 50-80bhp to me, which is what it got with the 3.0 version.
Thanks for the insight.

Would the low price and pictures from an industrial estate be enough to put you off?
