Same with me on the colour. On an otherwise moderately dull car - although in the right weather, no convertible can be dull - an unusual colour, even if it's a bit jarring, lends a bit of character.

I really like that colour! Just glad it's not one of their Colour Concept ones... the same on the seats could be a bit much!

Also like the colour. Reminds me of my much coveted Matchbox Golf Mk1 of the same colour when I were a lad. The one with little skis on the roof that were lost within the first 3 minutes.

In relation to the above post, I've found an e39 520 for sale for about £900. Last owner had it for 12 years, 118k on the clock and is a 2002 vintage with cloth and manual gearbox.

Are the 520's rather wheezy and not worth pursuing? It seems like a nice thing and to be honest, I only want it to pootle around in like an old person anyway. smile
Nowt wrong with a 520i. It sounds a daft thing to say, but you'll only notice any difference when accelerating relatively enthusiastically, which you do perhaps 5% of the time? Everything else is a comfortable, quiet, smooth, etc as a 530i.

Nice cars.

High 20's to 30 on average. 40 on a steady long run.

Looks like cricket green to me as well. My uncle specced his 97 a4 in this colour (1200 quid iirc) with competition alloys: was a super looking car!

guy in my area selling this, he wants £700 but says there's a gearbox issue, it wont go in to reverse, claims it's a small thing but doesn't sound small to me, still though lovely car

Cricket Green, I believe.

I like it. The engine wouldn't be my choice but the rest of it is civilised. I remember having one of these for a week on long-term test (what on earth has happened?) and being pretty impressed.
I was going to say Java Green but that's the newer one i believe.

It's lovely either way, IMO! I love garish and bright colours, especially on German cars. Makes a nice change from the usual bland white, grey and black for sure
To be honest, it could be cricket, paradise or java. I'm no Audi beard. I just remember talking to a salesman about an A4 in that colour many moons ago. I love it.

MOT successfully passed on the Lex with a marginal handbrake and minor exhaust leak - happy days.

Have ordered a new denso aircon compressor from Rockauto in the US for £200 + shipping/duty, which should remove the horrible rumble i get at present.

loving this manual e32 735 with velour just outside top budget

Photographs usually flatter a car, but even from the photos that looks absolutely ruined and fit for nothing but scrapping.

It's not a rare enough car to bother with the not inconsiderable cost of restoring it, and once an old BMW reaches that "stage of it's life" it'll change hands for a few hundred quid until some medium scale mechanical failure will send it to the knackers yard.

I love that e32. I bet with the manual gearbox and 35 engine it would be a great car to do my regular 330 mile journey south.

I received a message from my mechanic today re the Jaguar - it has decided to go into restricted performance mode a couple of times:

"the car reqs a throttle position sensor which only comes from the main dealer at a cost off £700. Do you want to have a look on eBay as you may get the sensor only there. It requires a o2 sensor also  (bank 2 sensor 1) and which appears to be difficult to get also. That's the part no in the image. Cheers"

Hmmmm.

Wouldn't that 540i be semi-skimmed then, as it's not an M5 wink
