This thread reminded me of the below Peugeot:
About 6 weeks ago, the owner parked it in the pub car-park right next to our house. He hasn't been back to it since. I have just checked the DVLA site and lo-and-behold the MOT expired 22.10.16 and the Tax at the end of November. I guess the owner has conveniently forgotten about it, rather than making any arrangements to get it back on the road or scrapped. It's the pub's problem now, of course.
There's a second part to this story. Several months ago the same car was left for a couple of weeks on our private road directly outside our house. There was a business card with a name visible on the dashboard, so I called the company and the HR lady informed that the guy had recently left the company, but that she still had his contact details and would pass on the message. Sure enough, a couple of days later he came back and drove the car away.
What sort of person just dumps their car on somebody else's property for weeks on end?
On the bypass near me there's often an abandoned car. There has been a 52 plate Clio, and S reg Saxo and a 52 plate Golf. They stay there for a couple of weeks before a 'Police Aware' sticker is on the screen then they get towed away. My only guess is that they break down / run out of fuel with no breakdown cover so the owner thinks the cost of recovery / repair isn't worth it and they let the police have it.About 6 weeks ago, the owner parked it in the pub car-park right next to our house. You need to look at the MOT history of that Cavalier to understand why it's dumped there.https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.7600738,-1.56870...

This place is a place of local infamy, most of the residents want it demolished.
A little bit of delving found that there were these cars in 2011:
C reg Volkswagen Passat CL (seemingly destroyed)
Reg: C694 LTO
Date of liability: unknown
L reg Renault Master T35 D panel van (destroyed/scrapped)
Reg: L94 HUD
Date of liability: 31 May 2005
H reg Austin Maestro (still there)
Registration Unknown
Date of liability: Unknown
J reg Skoda Favorit Forum Plus (survived, albeit SORN)
Registration: J34 OBD
Date of liability: SORN
H reg Vauxhall Cavalier L
Registration: H439 CBM
Date of liability: 14 September 2012
H reg Rover 800
Registration: H630 YRA
Date of liability: 01 December 2003
J reg Lada Samara
Registration: J547 DRA
Date of liability: unknown
C reg Vauxhall Astra
Registration: C140 ORG
Date of liability: 27 February 1998
Here are some pictures of the cars, I have attempted to source one picture for every car. Sorry they are crap. And yes, I do know that the "Passat" is in fact an Austin.
The pictures were taken circa 2011.
The garage in Church Gresley, Derbyshire is now planned for demolition to turn in to houses. It may have already started, hence the sad death of the Renault Master and some others.
Here's a quote.

Grenville Isham, who owns the former Jetberg Garage, in Castle Road, confirmed it would be bulldozed in the future, but would not give a reason for the delay, adding he hoped it would not be too long.
It comes after Mr Isham previously asked for more time before the demolition, as he had suffered two family tragedies in a short amount of time.
The garage, which was abandoned with cars locked inside, is often referred to as being 'stuck in time'.
It has been closed since 2002, but cars from the early 1990s still sit on its forecourt covered in dust.
For many years, Mr Isham has been asked when something will happen at the site. Several plans have been submitted to South Derbyshire District Council to use the site for homes, but none have yet come to fruition.
Mr Isham, of Hall Lane, Willington, had been continuing to trade there – one car at a time – but the selling dried up several years ago and the site has fallen into disrepair.
In 2010, the Mail reported that an application to build 14 homes on the site had been one of the longest running at the authority.

This mk1 Escort hasn't moved since at least the mid 1980s. Numerous people have knocked on the house door with offers to buy it but the owner is having none of it. Last time I saw it it was in terrible condition and would probably fall apart if moved. With the value of old Escorts though I'm pretty sure it could be restored.

Awful when this happens. I have no doubt he/she probably has then intentions of one day restoring it, but like 99% of these cars, they will just continue to sit there for the rest of their years. Unless its something they wont get rid of due to bereavement, which is awful and saddening but keeping it wont solve anything. Anyway, I'm just rambling now. I hope the owners of these cars can one day be in a position to be able to let them go.
My mate's dad was a serious hoarder and still had his two door mk1 Escort parked in his field (along with a Granada, several Fiestas and some various other half rotten cars) until at least 2007 when I last saw him. I don't think he anticipated the value shooting up like it has - he would kick himself for letting it rot so badly.
