I guess not quite an ordinary car but this hasn't moved for well over 12 years;

The house is also in a similar state to the van.

I almost fell into this trap recently.

The turbo on my Jag X-Type siezed, and I knew it was getting a bit crusty on the bottom. It needed a few suspension bushes. In my mind it was too good to scrap.

It sat for a few weeks, I got a price for the work to be done and realised I could buy another car for that price, and at 160k it wasn't worth fixing.

The hard part is, it still looked really good.

Gone now. On the plus side I got £600 back for it.

Rotting French van in the drive used to be a fashion statement where I grew up. You needed one to keep your other in spare parts.
They all have people selling coffee out of them around here now.

The French tend to have knackered old car abandoned in every garden for the simple reason of the ridiculous rule that says you are not allowed to sell a car that has less than, IIRC, 18 months validity on its controlle technique certificate (MOT equivalent). Thus when a car reaches the end of its life, people just leave them in the garden rather than paying a breaker to take them away

No where near ordinary but this Limo has been dumped in Bradford city centre for a long long time now, seems the council have finally taken some action, no idea how they plan to remove it through!

Reminds me of Stadium Way in Reading, which is packed full of rotting limos owned by a local garage owner who runs a hire business with some amusingly bad reviews...

Probably still works. My old Punto was nigh on unkillable apart from the sump and exhaust rusting.

Another example from near me. Not the best photo as it was right on the stich between two street view images.

There were at least 3x Mondeo estates in there that had been there since June 2015. Recently completely cleared away and all greenery cut down.

If you scroll back on the google maps timeline you can see how its built up over time: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.8743174,-1.27805...

Suitable number plates on both the Benz and the XJ, too. Someone was probably very proud of them once upon a time.
