I used to live in an apartment block mostly populated by Chinese people, and a lot of them seemed to treat cars unusually. .
Theres a couple of Chinese students who live in street, they have an Audi Q7 and just don't give a crap about it. Parked into stuff constantly, last time I came home part of the side skirt had been ripped off, no idea how lol

This has been there for years, but I looked up the reg and surprisingly it has a MOT, although the tester noted "oil everyware" (sic)

Saw a post (possibly on this thread somewhere) about Chinese students who'd come over to the UK to study, buy some pretty desirable stuff and then just abandon them when they'd finished. Sure there was a 911 or something similar.

My landrover will appear on this thread one day. It looks far far tattier than that one - but has a 4.0 V8 efi, headers and a host of goodies. It just looks absolutely st.

Google maps shows that it's been there for at least 11 years.

Plus this in nearby Hampstead.

Is there a sadder pair to save for posterity than these 2?

I was wondering if this one would be posted, I pass it nearly every day on my commute... there's also a fairly well abandoned Austin Cambridge (or the Morris or Wolseley badge equivalent) about 2-300 yards further out past the Two Poplars pub...

This van has been on the drive of this house ever since I can remember, rotting away. What a magnificent sight to behold!

Still there in 2020, I'll have to go that way on the bicycle Friday on the way to my parents and get an up to date snap!

I can only assume it's some sort of sentimental thing, or a two fingers up to a neighbour. I'd love to know. biggrin

A once posh part of town with the houses now split up into scruffy bedsits.

This one had a couple of abandoned Galaxies lingering for a while.

For the last few years there's been an old Beetle and VW Camper rusting.

Saw this today after not passing for a while but it’s been there for several years.

Edit...was the correct way up when I took the pic and is the correct way round on my camera roll!

Are there still cars regularly abandoned in the car parks at Heathrow airport?
It was a very regular occurrence back in the 80s. Often overseas students who were returning home and just parked up and saved the cost of a taxi and the hassles of selling a car . The compound on the bend near the end of the runway normally had a couple of hundred cars in it that had been recovered from the airport car parks , it often had some interesting stuff among all the regular dross .
They are probably cleared quicker these days for security reasons.

Can't be many of these left, in any state. This one is near the commonwealth pool in Edinburgh.
