I think most in the UK will be happy with what they have and under warranty. I'm sat in RCM today getting my Forester XT serviced and they really don't like the current 2.5 in any guise. Still, if it's under warranty who cares if it lunches itself? I'm waiting until they drop it for the 2.0 but there's no reason to think it won't be fragile as the GT86 and BRZ are starting to see issues too. Shame really.
Really? I was holding out hopes for the new engine but that is disappointing to hear. Time for a V6 then!Ali_T said:

Shame we don't get the WRX here as they do in the US. Its a fair bit cheaper than the STi and has the 2.0 FA20DIT Direct Injection Turbo engine which is generally seen as a decent step forward over the older 2.5. I had been wondering if we might have seen an STi in the UK with a version of the 2.0 DIT engine giving STi power levels, better reliability, lower emissions, improved economy and cheaper road tax. But that doesn't look likely anytime soon which is a pity. In the UK its an enthusiasts choice car but too many are reluctant to overlook the pitfalls of the 2.5.
