Not sure what the issue is here. Cyclists do this sort of thing all the time and their fan club on here will defend them no matter what they get up to. It's just one of the hazards of the roads in the UK.... despite proper vehicle owners legally having to have training and licences etc. we have to share the roads with completely clueless s who legally can cycle around with no training or sense of self preservation or anything else for that matter. From a totally logical perspective that is an idiotic situation, but it won't be changing as cycling is seen as some sort of divine right to the unwashed masses like procreating. In my mind both should require an IQ check before being allowed to happen!
Right, well on IQ... two of the most recent anti-cycling threads both had spelling mistakes in the titles alone. I don't know who you mean by 'proper' vehicle owners, you troll with this quite often, but every single person under the sun is a proper road user** - yet despite the inherent risks in using cars and vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes or 7.5 tonnes (dependent on when test was took), and vehicles that can travel up to 200mph depending on chosen vehicle, these road users are required to take no more "legal" training than someone using a push-bike.
That truly is an idiotic situation and from a totally logical perspective it explains how it's these users who do the most harm, killing and maiming tens of thousands of people every year.
In that tone may I point out this is page 309 (as I have my page set) of the *third volume* of st driving but only the st driving that's caught on dash cam - which is about what, a thousandth of what goes on out there? Also currently on PH we have threads on 8 killed on the M1, four killed and three seriously injured on the M5, and last week two peds were killed and two seriously injured on a country lane but no-one's arsed about that.
But we must clamp down on those cyclists, eh?
Cyclists with headphones - it means they hear the same as the 2-tonne drivers. https://rideons.wordpress.com/2012/07/09/an-ear-on...
- Sorry, I'm incorrect - of course not all road users are proper road users, as witnessed by the drunk hgv driver with no licence who contributed to 8 deaths recently. Peds and cyclists are the only road users by right, so imo that makes them the only genuine or proper road users - after that, all other road users and most vehicles have to be licenced and can only use roads by permission. They should know their place.

The amusement quota is similar from both the pro and anti lobby.2. ...after that, all other road users and most vehicles have to be licenced and can only use roads by permission.
I agree 'took' isn't the most elegant grammar, but it's still allowable.
license - verb
Hope that helps

No, again it is incorrect. The past participle is 'taken'.
The idea of a forum is that we speak as we would in a pub. That's how I speak in the pub. With a brummy accent. Sometimes with slurring. It's all allowed. I'm even allowed to spell in accent, if I desire. I can spell though, even if I've lapsed with an Americanism, in my old age.
I'm pretty certain it was cb who was telling us there's no such thing as a license, in a past bit of trolling, possibly whilst blathering on about road funding or some other fantasy.

Yes, it's just that you were criticising other posters for their poor grammar when your own isn't exactly something to boast about. I suppose hypocrisy is allowed in a pub as well though.
No, I pointed out their spelling. I pointed out that 2 of the recent anti cycling threads had bad spelling in the thread titles, said nowt about grammar, and I only did so due to the irony of one of the leading anti cycling trolls on ph referring to iq - on a thread which is 300 pages into the third volume of st driving The man scores so many own goals in just one short post that I just couldn't let them go.
Whilst I was sat at a junction waiting to turn right.

What is hard to see on the video without zooming in is after going further on they go onto the other side of the road to overtake a left turning car. They also stayed on that side of the road over a zebra crossing.

heebee, you really need to learn when to stop digging. I'm sure you're not thick, but sometimes you do a very good impression!. For your information your spelling and grammar is not great, which is not a crime except people in glass houses and all that!
You're in serious need of a whoosh parrot. Edited by cb1965 on Monday 18th September 06:39
You mentioned the iq of cyclists, I pointed out the spelling mistakes in concurrent anti cycling threads just in the titles alone.
My spelling and grammar gets picked up - but I'm a driver not a cyclist, so how does that help you?
I've said repeatedly and repeatedly, countless times, that I'm not a cyclist. It's just not possible that you could consider that I am. As I keep saying, I'm a motorist who is pissed off with the likes of you, who does so much damage to 'the cause' imo.
Luckily it seems not too many Guardianistas come this way, 'cos guys like you supply them with all the ammunition they need.

As I have pointed out yours.I'm happy to highlight your ignorance of the rules of English grammar as well should you wish, but was using the word broadly - and correctly. Check the etymology. Shall we start with your incorrect use of the apostrophe, your incorrect use of the abbreviation, or your incorrect use of the ellipsis? All examples, I should add, from your original hypocritical rant.
