I really don’t see it that way at all. SUV was waaaaay too late to overtake, imho.
It was a stupidly late overtake by the SUV, but the nose of the Mercedes definitely lifts at 8 seconds and the engine note changes.
It's a strange slip road that, and it does catch people out. It's a two laner which goes down to one for the roundabout. I've seen a few odd manoeuvres there as it catches people out. Then again it's not far from the West Yorkshire centre of fine driving and exemplary lane discipline, so who knows...?

Makes me wonder if it was stolen to be driving like that.
That was my thought as well - doesn't even bother stopping then wobbles over the roundabout. The cam car didn't speed up imo, but certainly didn't slow down a great deal - maybe he lifted off the brakes slightly to make it more awkward?

Calls him a name, clicks his camera and then smashes into him.

Can't help but think he'd have done better to notice the car coming up behind him, lift off and get ready to slow or evade.
Yes of course, because he knew exactly what was going to happen.

The DCW smashes into the other car??? Are you watching the same video?? He does not click his camera until the stop. And as for name calling, that's the least the other driver deserves.

He clicks the camera at 0.06 as he’s calling him a prick. You can hear it click. Then he crashes.

I'm on about the DCW being able to predict the overtaking car spinning out of control as it passes.

And one would assume that due to the conditions, he had little chance of stopping that quickly and impact was inevitable.

I don’t doubt you, but unless the Merc accelerated like Lewis Hamilton, which it didn’t appear to, I just don’t see how the SUV ever thought that overtake would come off.....

.....unless the Merc should have slowed?......
Just shooting the breeze, btw. Both are cocks.
It looks like the SUV was banking on the Merc starting to slow early and thought he'd be able to nip in front but misjudged how little room there was and didn't manage to get on the brakes hard enough

Much like someone could've noticed a car about to drive through a massive puddle at speed and spray water everywhere...? rolleyes

From the Cam footage, it looks like the SUV could have made it around the bend however, the driver ran out of talent and braked instead of taking the corner.

Hopefully s/he will have learnt that the UV are more significant than the S and taken on board a lesson about driving that day.

Stolen was my first thought. Hits the barrier and then carries on, you'd at least stop to take a look at any damage not f.off at speed.

or maybe no or invalid insurance?

That's a good point, someone should have reported to the authorities so they can claim repair costs.

Glancing blow, you may not stop to look at the damage, it will still be there later. smile

Well he can't predict when a car travelling in a straight line is going to lose control. Unlucky to be hit by the spinning car. Very annoying given he was driving sensibly. I think that the snow on the lanes either side meant he couldn't go into them without losing control too.

Embarrassment was my first thought. I've seen people crash having done silly things and then limped on - perhaps to find a quiet spot to view the damage.
