Would have totally been avoided had the Mondeo not given a ridiculous car width worth of a gap from the Insignia. Really not necessary on a road like that.
Maybe something had being 'going on' before they overtook the truck. It would explain the wide berth given to the Insignia and maybe why it sped up !Had the Focus just finished an overtaking maneuver itself maybe ?
I looks like its a long way out in the road and swerves in at the last second.
If it had clear vision all the time, wouldn't it have moved over earlier as it became obvious what the Mondeo was doing.

Would also have been avoided if she hadn't panicked and jerked at the steering wheel. Mondeo gave way more room to the Insignia than was necessary, but there was still enough space left for oncoming traffic.
I think all 3 share some of the blame there but unfortunately the most innocent is the one that paid the biggest price.

Not sure if this guy was deliberately messing with the lorry driver or if he just moved in for something coming up fast behind and lost power, maybe on an incline.
People forget the limitations cars had over thirty years ago.

Think he was being a bellend. The A50 doesn't have any inclines to speak of.People forget the limitations cars had over thirty years ago.

He didn't hit him so obviously not. And as for the holier than thou video with the subtitles and captions... give me strength!
It's far too close, and an absolutely piss poor bit of driving. If you think that is acceptable, it's time to sell your car and start taking the bus.imdeman87 said:

On a side note, I don't think horses should be on the road in many circumstances, but finding some sort of solution to this is difficult. Edited by imdeman87 on Wednesday 22 March 13:43

Possibly positioning to turn right at the roundabout? Either way, the Focus has left a bizarrely large space to the Insignia, two thirds into the oncoming lane. Deserves the blame. Mondeo gave way more room to the Insignia than was necessary, but there was still enough space left for oncoming traffic.

To be fair, the cyclist was doing 6mph on a flat road. Clearly not physically fit enough to be on public roads. He should sell is bicycle and start going to the gym. By the way the camera lens makes things either side appear closer than they are.rampageturke said:

And surprise surprise, again, EazyDuz desperately trying to pin some blame on the cammer. There's nothing 'fair' about what you're saying, it's a total load of dog toffee. It's a straight road with perfect visibility, if the pencil dick in the van can't see and overtake a cyclist properly under those conditions they shouldn't be driving. Simple as that. And if anything the slower cyclist speed should make things easier as the duration of the overtake is shorter.
As said already, the camera lens makes the overtake look much closer than it would be in real life. And the point i'm making is, if a cyclist is doing 6mph on a 50mph road, and another one is doing 20mph on the same road, which cyclist spends the most time on said road, with speeding cars overtaking the whole time thus keeping themselves in a dangerous position for longer?
Also bumbling along at 6mph makes it harder to track in a straight line.

Regardless of that though, it up to the overtaker not to pass dangerously close, and if you scare the cyclist, you are too close. Lots of other vehicles managed to see him and give him plenty of room. Van driver on phone perhaps? Or just a selfish twunt.
Here is an australian dashcam compliation posted 20th March. alot more st driving in this one then all the non-event stuff in the UK ones.
