In short, the Audi driver is lost and is presented with a shyte road design that can easily fool non-locals.

Please continue.
That is entirely plausible as well, guess we'll never know.

half the roundabout is a traffic controlled main road. It's very much a local knowledge thing.

by definition "A road junction at which traffic moves in one direction round a central island to reach one of the roads converging on it."

that roundabout is not a roundabout.

Be interesting to know the accident statistic are for that point. Looking at that overhead view I cannot understand why it's not a full roundabout, I'm sure in 99999 out 100000 times it would be. Poor design, creating potential accidents imho.

It is named after the cretin that did the road 'design'.

doesn't look too many.

However, does not include those not reported to the police. I've checked one my wife had and it does not appear.

Has this one been on yet, it must be a few months old as this is after a court case.

I would guess the lorry was in the right lane and had arrows telling him to move left, so he did but there was a taxi there who got a bit pissed off.

A TAXI driver who was barred from operating has been told the council was justified in revoking his licence.

Cabbie Paul Toland this week lost his appeal against Taunton Deane Borough Council 's decision to stop him getting behind the wheel of his taxi following a road rage incident Taunton magistrates heard on Monday that Toland earlier this year drove "potentially dangerously" by mounting the grass verge and undertaking a lorry on the busy A358 near Taunton.

He then stopped his vehicle, argued with the lorry driver and pushed him. Upholding the council's decision, the court up agreed he was not "a fit and proper person" to hold a taxi licence. Toland was also ordered to pay the authority's costs of £320. After the case, a Deane House spokesman said the authority is committed to upholding high standards in the licensed taxi trade and is making clear it will take action against drivers who fail to comply. Cllr Patrick Berry, executive councillor for environmental services, said: “The message is clear - driving that puts other road users at risk will not be tolerated.

“We expect taxi drivers to uphold high standards as they have the responsibility for the safety and security of their passengers and I am pleased to say that the overwhelming majority take that responsibility seriously.”

Lorry wanders over to right hand lane as if to pass car in front, runs out of dual carriageway, then wanders back to lane 1, where the taxi has moved up alongside the lorry's left hand side.

Starts off 2 lanes at the lights, lights change and as the two lanes merge Lorry allows the Renault in as expected of 'merging like a zip'

It then spits into 2 lanes and then another merge. At this merge the Lorry again is behind the Renault. Seems to be a merge on one side, but you would expect Cabbie to have the manners to let the lorry in, so because he didn't get his way in the game of chicken, he kicked off. Maybe the Lorry drivers fault, but without a reverse dashcam or one from the Taxi, we can't tell how mycg space there was, you can't see the cab until later so Lorry appears to be ahead by whatever amount at the start of the merge.

Maybe legally he didn't have to let lorry in, but its the physical confrontation and undertaking multiple cars that lost him his job. Aways unwise to take on a larger vehicle to make a point, and more so with his daughter in the car. Lorry drivers do take the mick due to their size effect on other drivers, as we all know from sudden lorry on lorry lane 1 overtakes on the motorway.

you could give the lorry driver the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he didn't know the road, or wasnt paying full attention or is just a crap driver.

The taxi guy knew exactly what he was doing. He's come up the inside and tried to hang the lorry out to dry knowing there's a merge ahead.

To continue driving on the verge when any normal person would have ceded is stunning in its stubborness and stupidity.

Appears the lorry driver called the daughter a slag in the resulting conversation:

That video appears to back up what taxi guy says in comments:

[later] HE approached my car HE spat through my window Thats why I got out of the car. Not only did he spit at me in the car he spat out his truck window too which also didn't help the situation. HE initiated the contact whilst continuing to abuse my daughter . So like I say hold my hands up to bad judgement and anticipation on my behalf (yes I was angry) but I won't have any tosser spit in my face or abuse my daughter .
Based on the above, Lorry driver is also a tt.

In my opinion the taxi driver should have been charged with dangerous driving and assault.

There was no wandering. Lorry took RH lane when road split into two lanes, tried to overtake car in front but reached the merge point before that happened so moved back into LH lane. Only the brain damaged would attempt to overtake a lorry on the inside.

IMHO Lorry is a lane hogging tt.
