Considering it shares a platform with the Punto & previous generation Corsa, and is getting really long in the tooth, it still soldiers on. Soon to be dropped though. Hope it's replaced frown

Rear brake sticking? Standard on every rear disc car I've had.

Leaves in the cabin? It has a pollen filter so this shouldn't happen (assuming they remembered to put one in at the factory..lol).

Gearbox isn't an auto. DCT like DSG etc. Nice box too.

Did you mention Skyhook? I take it the adaptive dampers are still fitted?

Better quality interior.....lmao.

Overall, it's still my pick of the current Alfa range as they still haven't replaced the Brera or GT.
Shame they never put the adaptive dampers on the Giulietta

I had three Mito's. Only intended to buy two, the third being a replacement. Last was the 135 MA.

I still think they look great and never deserved the harsh reviews they sometimes received.

They do however have a bit of a serious design flaw that most owners are probably unaware of. Park the car on a steep hill facing upwards ( my drive is is steep ) and if you wash the car or it rains, then the sills will fill up with water. Lots of water!. There are five or so rubber bungs on the sills which can be taken out to let them drain, however the one nearest the rear wheel is about 30cm from the end of the sill, hence until you move the car that's where the water stays. So if you are away for a couple of weeks it'll still be there when you get back. All of the loan Mito's that I had did the same thing. Neither the dealer or myself ever managed to solve the issue.

Always thought they share many bits with the 500 abarth they recently facelifted the mito
Smaller platform, the 500 shares its platform with the old Panda (maybe the new one too given how up to date Fiat's development of its platforms usually is) and the Ford Ka. The MiTO is the Grande Punto/Evo and the Corsa (current/old gen).

I for one have never gotten on with the styling of the MiTO (bloomin idiotic name chosen democratically through a competition in Italy I think). It just doesn't gel as a shape with the 8C formula scrunched up far too much. I'd rather get the Punto version, though that'd be yet another Fiat for me and I'd like a change for once lol

I'd never go to a dealer for stuff though, they've always been a nightmare for me so used independents when and where I could. Especially ones that are Fiat/Alfa approved for warranty work. Whatever that crap excuse for a warranty covers. Built in design flaws, well that's just Italian isn't it? The more technical the car, the more there is to go wrong wink

I will say this though, they're far more interesting than a lot of other cars on the road. Daring to be different and not play it safe in a Polo or similar is an option to be respected for its bravery at the very least. At 18 I was still driving my Dad's 1-litre Uno biggrin

Enjoyed your review, I had a Mito QV 2011-2014 great little car much better than the Abarth 500 I had before it. Just a few comments on the issues:

Brakes - as per other comments, always dry the brakes after washing the car by driving round the block
Key remote - probably needs a new battery, try the spare
DRL bulbs - they are dual filament but usually both filaments light when headlights are off and only one when main headlights are on - I replaced mine with blue coloured bulbs that glow LED-like white - look much better
Fuel - I averaged 34 driving Dynamic most of the time, only on a gentle long run will you get near 40, the DNA on A setting will get better mpg

Only one other thing - the year we had the bad snow in March, the Mito with DNA in A mode is actually very good on snow and ice it was a very pleasant surprise how good it was when very slippery. Lastly - Biancospino paint - seems to be very 'sticky' attracts tar like magnet
