Its the same principle with any asset rental business, doesn't matter what you are renting
there must be some form of legitimate business model for exotic cars that makes sense.
Indeed so - but makes sense for who is the question! Its easy to make it work for either renter or customer, the tricky part is making it work for both at the same time.

Making an asset rental business work relies on a cocktail of having the right stuff available at the right price whilst still making you a margin. After that you need utilisation levels high enough such that time based depreciation doesn't kill you.

The one with the LaFerrari etc either doesn't actually have one or it's a private owners car. Either way, it will never be on self drive. There isn't a single insurance company that would do a self drive policy for a £2m+ car.
Nonsense - you can have any risk underwritten...just at what cost.

I know Paul well. All of his cars are chauffeur driven only. I'm not sure what your post implies against mine?
I didn't click with the 'horsepowerrentals' part as I know it as another name but still..

It wasn't against your per -se

Was pointing out that the LaF is actually owned by the company on this case, namely PB and HP rentals.

The rest was more info for the OP.

Hasn't he always been 'Gotham Dream Cars'?

As has been said, renting exotics in mega-cities like London or New York seems to make more sense as people don't have the space to have their own car collection so would be in the market to rent something interesting for a weekend away.

I suspect the current climate of low interest rates and a rising market for 'classic' supercars also helps make the numbers work a little better.

I'll leave that there.

The bottom of the list is Saleem Iqbal, (aka "Lord's" father). You can see from the address on google maps that the driveway is full of white cars.

I hate seeing how "humble" this tosser portrays himself on Instagram. Surprised Platinum Executive Travel is still in business

For the same reason Batley, Dewsbury and Bradford are full of takeaways, cash businesses, ideal for the above reasons.

That story is from 2014, I thought I had seen it previously. Why bump it now?

Business doing well for PET - Bugatti Chiron delivered!

How do people get away with this? Fair enough if you did this in the background and on the quiet, but this is published all over social media for everyone to see. Do authorities turn a blind eye to how such lavish cars are funded? I know it shouldn’t bother me but I am getting more wound up with the posts they are putting out, stating how hard they had to work to achieve this!

I’m going to struggle to ask this question without being moderated, but I’ll try.

Is the suggestion / insinuation being made that a company such as this, were I to set one up, would be as useful as a route to launder drug money as it would be (in the case being discussed above) as a completely legitimate business that makes money renting out expensive cars?

"We have people come in all the time wanting to pay in cash, they say they always dreamt of buying a car this way ...why are you looking at me like that?" - (Bugatti sales rep probably)

I was told that during the early 60s a certain small British sports car manufacturer not only welcomed payments in cash but turned the lack of traceability to their own advantage.
