RE: Is the MX-5 RF a good looking car? PH Blog

I was wondering what it is about the change in our culture over the last 30 years that has lead from the happy, friendly 'face' of the Mk1 MX5 to the ridiculous snarling angry eyes face of the current model. It's not just the MX5 of course, more and more car manufacturers (presumably in response to car buyers) seem to favour this sort of design. Is it because people feel so insecure in life now that they need to be assertive through the styling of their car??
For my part I think the happy face of the Mk1 was miles better.

I think you read too much into it - it's nothing more than fashion. I think there is no difference in insecurity then and now.For my part I think the happy face of the Mk1 was miles better.
