Excellent write up, yours is a great example of the breed dude.
Utterly addictive cars. Not sure I'll ever sell mine. Over 9 years now, most of those spent SORN, but it's still a joy to open the garage and stare.

running 420+ on stock twins at 1 bar.
With all due respect, no it's not I'm afraid!Yeah, you aren't running 420 bhp at 1 bar on the stock twins. The manifold doesn't flow that much. Stock twins at 1 bar will make about 320-350 bhp depending on the rest of your setup. I think the record on stock twins was around 380-400 but it was pushing like 1.5 bar and the turbos blew about 1,000 miles later - too much heat.
If you were running larger twins like BNRs or the Knight Sports units then you could perceivably achieve 420bhp, but not on stock ones, and definitely not at only 1 bar.
With a single, you can make whatever your budget allows you up to over 1,000 bhp on the little 1.3L 13B-REW, but not reliably.
400 bhp in one of these is pretty much a low 11 / high 10 second car in the 1/4 mile. And when you start pushing beyond 400 bhpyour reliability suffers exponentially. 500 bhp is a mid-10 second car and you can hit 9s running less than 600 bhp if you have the right tires and suspension setup for drag racing so you don't break your drivetrain.

Yeah i know, this was the highest recorded on them supposedly. we'll see how long they last, then i'll go single!
The manifold was ported with the waste gates according to the builder, don't know the specifics but a lot of work went into maximising the flow to get the power, engine runs a pineapple racing street port from the states.
Anyway it goes well enough even if it isn't that power and they're fabulous cars to drive , and recommend them to anyone. Bills are no worse then an impreza/evo , better if anything.

My wife got me my RX7 as a gift and it will never leave us. So far it has been pretty faultless with only one breakdown due to a dead alternator.
Coming from a TVR Tuscan it was hard to find something similar in terms of ownership and the RX has it nailed. Unique sound, excellent handling and every journey an adventure. I don't think the TVR ever got as much attention, the best to date being a couple driving past me on a dual carriageway with the guys misses hanging out the window taking a video on her phone.

Damn!! I need to find myself a wife like yours! Some gift that. Nice car mate.Coming from a TVR Tuscan it was hard to find something similar in terms of ownership and the RX has it nailed. Of the vehicles I have owned to date, my RX-7 was the one that I kept the longest and miss the most. I also purchased at £4k mark and sold for £4k as well. I had it for sale for about 3 months and there seemed to be no interest whatsoever (other than the odd dreamer). Eventually a guy from France rang up, we agreed a price over the phone and the next day he arrived to take it away.
For the 3.5 years I had it it was relatively reliable. It sprung a couple of oil leaks and I had to get rather familiar with the "rats nest" to solve the inevitable vac leaks that rears it's head every so often. Those faults aside though, it was a bloody amazing piece of kit in terms of both looks and drive. I managed to resist the urge to fettle with it for about a year... but then it went to Super7 in Brighton for full exhaust, intake, downpipe, IC, modified wastegate, fuel pump & injectors and a PFC. The end result was 330bhp on the stock sequential setup and as near as damn it, the perfect fast road setup.
Here is a snap of it:
Absolutely bloody lovely thing it was.
