Meteorite silver body, anthracite wheels.. OK not actually black.. (but originally silver), and red calipers... Dark wheels... really, what's not to like? smile

I don't like them either. You just lose all definition of what the wheel looks like. I much prefer white wheels but they are a bugger to keep clean.

Oddly I do love black cars and don't really like white ones.

Black wheels look horrid on all cars of all colours at all price-points. Black wheels do not reflect much light or definition and leave the wells looking hollow. Think of it as "black teeth syndrome".

I think they look awful and utterly tasteless, the only allowable exceptions are steel wheels.

Not sure if they're Chav or not but have to agree with the post above.

I am not a fan of black wheels, I think silver makes them stand out. Gun metal grey wheels looks good on the right colour car. Each to their own, I am glad we don't all like the same thing.

Black wheels look wk. But, for people of a certain age black wheels look like what crap cars did years ago when the wheel trims were missing. biggrin

I like the silver wheels on my car and can't imagine I'd like it as much with black, but as said before very subjective. It's also not to say I hate black wheels, just depends.

More personally irritating though is the style.

I have silver wheels with lots of fiddly spokes and detail, beautiful when clean... with hindsight I maybe should have gone for the standard 5 spoke easy clean ones.

I generally dislike them, but I have a black car. I had the wheels refurbed with black centres and polished rims a few years ago, and after brief misgivings, have come to love how it looks. I would go back to silver rims, but I've come around to the idea that on a black car, the blacker it is, the better. Opinions are going to vary massively, obviously.

I've got 'diamond cut' wheels on my car - I even paid extra for them rolleyes I think the silver bits look nice, but the black bits embarass me a bit, because I think black wheels look silly on everything.

ETA: Except this.

I've never realised that the colour of wheels annoys people so much. Here's my black wheels just to cause more outrage;

Black wheels completely ruin a car. You lose all detail on the rim.

Silver and gunmetal are best.

This. Looks like a CID car, always easily spotted by lack of wheel trims.

Thanks, whoever it was, for posting the black wheels on the black Fiesta ST as mine need doing and I can see how bloody awful they look.

Same as the "Lexus lights." Looked good when it wasn't so common, looks naff when virtually everything "sporty" has it.
This.

They are also a bit chavvy to my eyes.

Black wheels on SUVs look like total gash, no exceptions. The master of the gash SUV look is taken by Range Rover or Range Rover Sports, it looks like the driver is a cross between a drug dealer and a failed footballer.

Next worst down the list are A-class drivers with those nasty black multi-spoke alloys, the chavviest car on sale at the moment.
