Black wheels - am I wrong?
Discussion
Black wheels on a white discover sport. Yes recession white indeed!!!!!
Could or give a flying twonk personally. Its an A to B motor to ferry the kids. It's the wife's car.
However, when I visit unsavory places for food I am sure to be ear marked for a poofter or a drug dealer. Could not give a toss as long as the food is banging!

I'm not a big fan of black wheels - you tend to lose the style of the wheel when it is black.
But the wheels on Mrs Tidy's R56 Mini Cooper are looking pretty scruffy now after 13+ years and she wants them done in black. Somehow I think they may look pretty good as her car is red, with black roof and 2 black bonnet stripes - we'll see!

I’m in the like pile too. Not just saying it on principle. I think the colour combo works well. I like the simple unfussy lines it gives. Purposeful. Unusual too, which I always like seeing.
No I can't see it , a car of that quality and good looks should be given the benefit of a far better colour scheme , my son might like it though .neil-1323bolts said:

Fair enough. Eye of the beholder and all that. It is his/her car though.I find some colour schemes that maybe appealing to some, bland and lacking in spirit or breaking from flock trends which are frequently whimsical, subjective and culturally in favour on a cyclical basis (brown cars were once a popular thing, white was once for microwaves).
Granted this contains contradiction, as the owners of popular, safe choices such as red with silver wheels, naturally like those colours. But, I admire free thinkers who won’t be constrained by the herd in their perception of aesthetics.
This car wouldn’t be my top personal choice (mines speed yellow with black wheels- came like that your honour). I do personally like it for those reasons and I can see the owner obviously does.
In the early - mid 90s there was a short TV series on car design. I've tried to find it on youtube with no success.
In one episode the legendary Leonardo Fioravanti (designer of F40, 246 Dino, 512 BBB. Ferrari Daytona 365GTB, 308 GTB, Testarossa, 288 GTO) explained that black wheels simply look crap. Who is to question a guy of his standing in such matters?

Certainly can't make it look any worse
