I'd be grateful to be educated by those more hip than me as to what a car that's completely black is called though?

Well I did say "as I said " so it's no surprise that I said it again...

I can only add that wow... it's worthy of a "wow"

Don't worry, according to Kuji, we're not the "cool kids" either, so there's not use in asking us biggrin

I guess to be cool, you have to not be identifiable as cool.... as soon as you're labelled it, you're no longer 'it'...

My Elise has black wheels. TBH it was one of the options on the car that wanted me to buy one. It works with the rest of the black parts on the car too.

Cool.

Both my previous Exiges had black wheels as well.

I like the Exige wheels I fitted to mine.

This was my last foray into black wheel and suited the car perfectly IMO

Definitely agree that the Elise and Exige suit black wheels. I had a set of aftermarket OZ's on my S2 Elise

Black wheels came as standard on my Exige

Anthracite on my Evora I thought worked quite well too.

Wow, you said it again.

Uninspiring. hehe

I'm glad to see some love for Lotus models with black wheels - I've always thought the Elise/Exige have suited black alloys. In fact, the Lotus Exige S1 came with black wheels from factory. I personally think such a car would look odd with bright silver wheels ...

I'll throw mine into the mix. It's heavily modified with S1 Exige alloys in OEM colour. In fairness, I should cosmetically treat the tyres to darken them, but I'll be replacing them soon.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the twins prove once you go black...

...you intend to buy some Team Dynamics and paint them body-colour. Which is irrelevant to the basic discussion as to whether black is better than silver. As is the picture since 'black' in this case is a Vauxhall Graphite grey. st, I'm doing this wrong, is this any better?

In short, black wheels sometimes good. Sometimes actually black.

Cheers, Jim

Personally - I think it looks a lot better, I wish I'd had them painted years ago :-)

I'm using solid lead victories because they are one of the nicest looking S1 wheels made. To make up for their weight I want to at least be able to see them!

Getting them silver was the first change I made when I got the car.

Black, if you can make them out:

Silver:

I think it looks fine either way so there we are - sometimes a car can carry either off.

huh? unlikely...I don't have any...I'm not cool enough. People can easily see my wheels so I'm segregated... hehe

As I've said, for me, unless you have a completely black car, an all black wheel, especially satin or matt in finish is the ultimate in ugly...for an option on modern motors, to pay for it to look worse is mind boggling...

Gunmetal, anthracite, provides enough contrast, whilst still allowing a design to shine through.

So I'm cool now with my " completely black car ". Thank fk for that, it'll save me a fortune in wheel refurbs! I'll be able to spend the money on some ragin' gangsta tints so I can do some murdering out on the two time bro!
