The annoying Eastenders thing of naming with one syllable :
Teg = Integra
Mig = Omega

Ban-the-Bomb tail-lights on Mk1 Tina, sorry Cortina.
Coke-bottle Mk3 Cortina.

Agree, i've seen TWINKS before used for twin cams but I'd NEVER use that myself.
I'd suggest you don't even Google it if you're looking for discussion of twin cam engines.

For a small country we have a wild amount of dialects and terminology. I could drive forty minutes away and not have a clue what the locals are referring to

I had an EF shape civic 1.6i-16 about 10 years ago which ended up being owned by me twice and at least 3 of my mates. It was affectionately known as "the silver tool" still to this day if anyone is trying to describe that particular model of civic it would be called "tool shape"

Integras are Tegs
Preludes are Ludes
Crxs are Rex's

But they're all pretty common nicknames for them, not one that is just used by a group of 10/15 or so people

Wasn't beetle a nickname for its product adopted by VW in the 50ies, after being simply called Volkswagen and formerly KDF-Wagen?

I also nominate the nickname the thing for the VW 181

The 2CV is known as duck in german-speaking countries
The 126p is called maluch in Poland, translates to mite, as in small thing/person

My dad calls Austin A30/A35s 'puddlejumpers'.

I've seen Volvo referred to as 'Ovlov', for some obscure reason (yes, it's backwards, but why Volvos?)
