RE: Pagani Huayra Roadster - official
Discussion
The front end is far closer to the Zonda now, and that's no bad thing - the original Huayra's rounded oval nose just made it look lardy. The rear remains a touch untidy. Still, overall, it's a real looker now.
The interior? I love it! If you are paying €2m+ for a car, the last thing you want is for the interior to look like a Munich taxi - all black. It's s exuberant as the exterior, and shows wonderful textures and materials. I love the whole Jules Verne steampunk meets leather fetish mash-up.
Very impressive, and for me, a welcome return to form for Pagani.

Dear god that interior looks like it should be in a fast Mercedes. I bet it even has strip club lighting effects
I thought it looked remarkably restrained for a Pagani. Fair enough, the steering column still looks a Terminator's intestines but there's a welcome absence of yellow ostrich leather. i agree, simply beautiful.
we do live in a funny world though when a F488 does pretty much the same for 10% of the cost.
But as a piece of moving art, beautiful.
One thing that does grate though, is the seatbelt buckles, the same horrible red carbuncle found on a £6k dacia. it is the same on all the other mega price cars, so i presume it is some legislative requirement.
You'd think that there would be a supplier out there who would go to the effort of getting some nice ones type approved, the top end companies would certainly pay for them, IMO

Wow, that carbon exterior finish! I have always thought that the ultimate (lacquered carbon with impossibly glossy surface) as per the Bugatti Galibier. Not sure I would order that amazing interior in hearing aid beige though... I have been very happy with my old M5, only now wish I was truly stinking rich...

Much nicer than the original but for me a Zonda is still my favourite car ever.
Pretty much verbatim of what I uttered.Fire99 said:
I know we are working in a completely different zone here on value for money but when the 640bhp Zonda F Roadster was £825k (if google is to be believed), then this seems a whole bucket more money for not a whole bucket more car..
The Zonda was designed as a supercar, but it then morphed into a "boutique" supercar. This has been designed to be "boutique" from the off. That will have been reflected in its materials chosen and lack of attention to cost-down. That wouldn't have been an option on the Zonda as they would have had no capital from revenue to reinvest.McAndy said:

Maybe so but (and this is coming from a man who hasn't owned a Zonda) the Zonda F has a pretty exquisite interior, great exterior proportions and top grade performance, for a snip (ish) at 800 odd grand. I just do not see another million + in the Huayra. Not by a long shot.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
