System says there was no auction today. Next one is Thursday this week -

There was, but I'm guessing the car itself didn't sell as it's still on the Manheim site and showing as 'preview stock' as opposed to being marked as sold.https://www.manheim.co.uk/our-centres/colchester

They've put it on an online auction now with a starting price of £4200 and buy-it-now of £4700.
They hardly ever sell any cars that way so I suspect it will be back in the next RCI live auction.
So a fairly decent difference between that and the £8.5k payment required to pay it off at the end of the finance deal They hardly ever sell any cars that way so I suspect it will be back in the next RCI live auction.
Even at £4,200 there isn't enough margin in it given the prep work it'll need to get retail ready so I guess it'll go through a few more times yet.

I do wonder how many people stump up the £8.5k at the end of the deal? Presumably quite a few do making the situation for Renault not as bad as we may think

If I understand this thread correctly, if you buy a Zoe second hand you would still need to pay the monthly battery lease - is that right? How do Renault manage to force the second buyer to take the lease on, or is that crystal clear when bidding at the auction?
If you look on the zoe forums there is plenty of discussions on this. The story is that the battery belongs to renault, so you cant buy it as it isnt the vendors to sell. The T&C seem to say that the original owner iis responsible for the payments until new contract is signed so there is quite an incentive not to allow anyone to buy your car without signing an agreement.
It is a mess. I've heard that some fluence owners are getting away without paying (but I also hear that renault isnt in a position to replace those batteries so it cuts both ways).

If you do an HPI check the battery lease shows there too. Greenmantle said:
I can't understand this price increase.
Is it due to the diesel scares in the media?
In my mind the buyer has an upper hand.
They can negotiate down the price to take on the lease.
Surely the seller will want to get shot of the lease at any cost?

Car was on a PCP, with a final payment of circa £8.5k to buy the car. Obviously the driver isn't going to buy it for that so it goes back to the finance company who take the hit and sell it on for whatever they can get which is what's happening here.Is it due to the diesel scares in the media?
