Fairly sure this suggestion won't meet with much approval based on previous responses, but I think, of new cars, these are fairly "classy" simply because they don't pretend to be anything (especially in SE trim with no LED DRLs or xenons, and 17" wheels).

Love that.

Classy = buy quality and stay away from the configurator. Everything you add (except leather/auto) makes it worse.

This thread will get me browsing old Jaguar saloons in the classifieds, I just know it.
I'm not sure - it's very easy to spec a car up nicely but tastefully. My RR is a top spec Vogue with all the toys, but runs the smallest rims and has well-matched understated exterior and inteior colours.
Just stay away from the bling interior trim (Dad's new XJ was specced with Carbonfibre inlays instead of the gorgeous slabs of wood, for example hurl ), big shiny allows and "sporty" bodykits

Well at least it isn't the VRS with its gopping wheels.

Bonus points for estate but no, cheapskate != classy.
Pretty much as predicted. No VRS available on this model. If you are talking about price then you are immediately not classy IMO..

A debadged Alpina estate would be my nomination

Huh? Has it also had the Alpina wheels removed?

I think Jag XJ-R's circa 2003 - 2008 tick all the right boxes. Especially in black.

These seem to be mostly owned by moderately successful but extremely self important red faced men in their 50s/60s who are in The Rotary Club and dream of being a freemason as far as I can see. They'll get classier once they follow the natural Jaguar trajectory and become the conveyance of choice for the landlords of flat roofed pubs and PH skinflints from the Bargain Barge thread.. The 2003 models are there now

These weren't classy new, far too Toby Carvery/Mock Tudor after the absolute class act of the X300 and X308. While not as vile as the S-Type and X-Type these Geoff Lawson and Ford era Jaguars are all fairly unpleasant things to behold.
Well, I am not red-faced in my 50/60s. Don't really the get the pub-landlord stereo-type, I have only ever noticed one XJ parked outside a local village pub (a fairly nice place), I tend to avoid flat-roofed pubs...

You certainly like to make known your dislike for late Ford era products, I don't really gets what makes them 'vile' and the X308 fantastic. Many of my gripes about the X350 are carried over from the X308, and XJS.

The OP appears to be suggesting that the 'classy' clientele enjoyed by SAAB, and Audi in it's austere checked cloth days either don't drive any longer, or don't exist.

So either the classy people are cycling and using public transport, or society has gone to the dogs, or you can't tell that much about a person by the car they drive.

Caterham? Seriously, basically impossible to chav up. Big wheels don't really fit, owners tend to be nice people (in the most part!) and you get thumbs up everywhere you go.

After that perhaps Volvo XC90? I am sure they do chav special though.
Loving the caterham as I have one and we are one classy bunch of people , and nice , and always ready to talk about our cars sometimes for hours on end .

I think a LWB A8 ( basic wheel spec please) carries a good degree of presence, and arguably class.

Black or dark blue please.

I'm not so sure about the newer ones though.
No Audi made in the last 15 carries any form of class, let us just stop that right there.
Silly comment, and uniquely a British thing. First it was BMW, now it's the tail end of Audi's phase, whilst Mercedes are very much becoming the defacto choice of the cock/chav brigade.
Audi, BMW and Mercedes all carry no class. Do you understand what "classy" means?

class·y (klăs′ē)
adj. class·i·er, class·i·est Informal
Highly stylish; elegant.

The comment about Audi's, BMW's, and Mercs are just daft. Yes, sadly, a lot of people driving them feel in some superior which is mildly annoying but to say any of them aren't stylish is being stupid.

Most Audi's over the years have been stylish, if anything the smallest car of the range, the A1, is particularly stylish.

Jaguars - Older ones are often driven by creepy old guys. However the XKR has always had a certain something that made it classy.
Mercedes - The S class and the CLS. AMG's are acceptable if debadged and in moderate colours.
Audi - The A8 really. W12 for the connoisseur.
Range Rover - Range Rover Vogue with clear glass and a more moderately sized wheel. Defender, definitely.
Aston - Always.
Maserati - Yes.
VW Golf - A debaged R is for the most part, a reasonably discrete offering, but I agree with others that the GTI has carved out its own niche.
Ford - A well cared for Mondeo ST in blue, I feel, is actually a tasteful car.
BMW - M6 with four doors again in that deep blue, The 7 series and a 3/4 seris just below the 'M' range so it's subtle but has ample poke.

I've always loved the 530 and 535 msport models, even more now they are nowhere near as common, that's my old mans and it's an absolute pleasure to drive put a lot of new cars I've driven to shame!
With all due respect (And speaking as a previous advocate and previous owner of e60s including two 535d M Sports), whilst perhaps you thought that that picture of an e60 sitting in an industrial estate behind a transit van, and beside a skip with a shaven headed bloke called "Big Jim" in shot was showing the "classiness" of the e60 shining through, sadly i think it fits right in these days... frown
