The wheels are kinda reminiscent of these...

Really like that a lot! Should sound pretty decent being a 3 pot too without much fakery?
Those wheels too are genuinely lovely, the interior looks decent too but just on a par with current rivals who've been out a while rather than a new generation kind of thing.

Lets see what lease deals come out as looks a cracking car indeed!

Love the ST range of Fords. They always "look right", drive well and handle well.

I like the front, but the rear looks like a B-max!

Overall, I quite like this. The idea of a buzzy little 3-pot seems in keeping with the mini hot hatch theme.

Nothing here that would convince me to trade in her indoors 2 year old ST2.

Like the alloy wheel design. Hope the cylinder deactivation can be turned off, for when they get older (like start stop can in most cars) as sounds like something to go wrong down the line, otherwise impressive it will run on just 2 cylinders (bet that doesn't sound great though).

The promo video suggests that it's only just faster than a middle-aged man on a child's bicycle, which is a curious way to showcase a performance model.
hehe

Yeah, I wasn't sure that the factory setting was a good idea either - it all looked a bit Longbridge compared to the clinical looking production lines you see from the Germans.

My girlfriend has the current ST, and compared to that I'm not convinced yet. I just listened to some tuned 1.0 Ecoboosts, and they all sound like plant machinery to me. The electronic sound is also a big step back from the current symposer which pipes induction noise directly into the cabin, for a great analogue rorty 4-pot sound.

Looks-wise the back is an OK design, but the fact that is lifted straight from the C-Max ruins it. As with the current ST it doesn't look that special - you can guarantee that that body kit and spoiler will be offered on every other base model and Fiesta van before long. I'd love to see an RS version that takes a few more styling cues from the WRC car, including some wider arches.

Like the look of that. People were worried the next one would be 5 door only door like the Focus and others (Clio etc). It looks a bit cartoonish compared to the current model but quite a good evolution. Agree that it should sound interesting too.

It's no XR2 though is it? It's shaped like a kids trainer - no thanks.

I think a fiesta st is one of the few cars that if you are over 25 you'd look out of place in. Even any other small hot hatches look acceptable but just something about a fiesta.

I kinda like it, knowing how fun and buzzy the current ST is, i'am confident this will be a cracker aswell. I'am not so sure on the 3 Pot though, the current outgoing Engine is really good on Fuel as it is, but there must be a reasoning ?

The Centre Console has hints of Peugeots 208 Models which IMO i do like, also the Liquid Blue Colour, isn't that the Colour the current Mk3 FRS was showcased in ?

Manual box - tick
3 door option - tick
Not gone for stupid power - tick

3 driving 'modes' - hmmm
Electronic sound enhancement - boo
That stupid sync3 screen - boo
Silly shaped steering wheel - boo

Keep it basic was my wish and I suppose they've not gone too overboard. If it retains (or even improves on) the driving dynamics of the current version I'll chop mine in for one when the time comes.

Except I'm well over 25 so will look stupid apparently.

I like the wheels, they're the classic Venoms, on a slope!

Think the rest of the car is okay, a slow burner but think it will work.

Engine is controversial, may sound nice & have decent punch, or may be a let down, we'll have to wait & see.

I am hoping I will see an hear a lot of these (as many as I do the current model). With three cylinders and a good exhaust, it should sound great.
