Supercars spotted, some rarities (vol 7)

I wish someone would change the thread title, so that it works grammatically and we don't have to do the 'thats not a super car' dance every few pages
But there’s already a supercars thread. And a classics thread.
This is the anything goes thread! Shiny; expensive; old; new; rare; not seen by poster before. The joy is in the variety!
Never knew these existed.
Spotted in a Marriott car park in Albuquerque - a Jaguar XJ L Type R (L for long wheelbase).
Only 25 built, and 790 BHP. I’d *almost* say it qualifies as a ‘sleeper’.
What was most wonderful was it was being driven by a *very* elderly black Vietnam veteran, who showed me all the pics of him caning it on race circuits. Real character! He’d driven it from Washington DC to Albuquerque for a car show (1400 miles).

So a grammatically correct title like Rare cars and/or super cars would make sense.

I stand to be proved wrong, but I think he's pulling your chain with the power...AFAIK, Jaguar have never officially gone above 600bhp (well, PS I think) with the supercharged 5.0.Spotted in a Marriott car park in Albuquerque - a Jaguar XJ L Type R (L for long wheelbase).

That thing still has an easy 550bhp, but not supercar-slaying performance.

Fair point, but he did say it had had a lot of engine work - it sounded fierce as hell! That thing still has an easy 550bhp, but not supercar-slaying performance.
A few tasty toys in Stratford this afternoon. (and yes, I know I should have photos, but I was either driving or trying to shepherd a wayward 4y.o. with her ice cream)
- silver 993 GT2 - looked legit, but I guess it's hard to tell now. Still bloody cool...
- 488 Pista - red with obligatory stripes. I'm sure it's ballistically quick, but it was blaring tonelessly down the street and just looked really cliche'd. I'd rather the Porsche...
- ...or the very burbly black 1960s Mustang which sounded absolutely epic even at a slow cruise
- oh, and there was a white gen-2 R8
- ...and at the other end of the scale, a pretty tidy red Mk3 Capri...just a 1.6 Laser, but for sale for £10k. When did that happen?
