I'm wondering if there were two; one a bit more discreet than the one in the picture.

Just continuing this lady owner Aston Martin sub-thread. Back in 1989, I visited the Le Mans 24 hour race. There was a special pre-race parade of famous Aston Martins cars, presumably to commemorate 30 years of their DBR1 victory.
Anyway one of the star attractions I saw was a blue DB4 GT road car from that same era, which had been driven there by its long-term lady owner. It was probably the most illustrious of the DB4 GT road cars and was the actual one used in the famous sub 20 seconds 0-100-0mph production car world record. That's still good going even by today's standards. 1989 was the height of the previous classic car bubble, so this was a very valuable car to be driving around in at that time.
Despite being the best part of 3 times my age, the flame-haired lady in the priceless car left quite an impression on this spotty teenager!

That would probably have been "40 MT" (Ch. 0167) which Autosport did the 0-100-0 in 20 secs. in 1961.Anyway one of the star attractions I saw was a blue DB4 GT road car from that same era, which had been driven there by its long-term lady owner. Car & Driver also did the same with a different 4GT.
"40 MT" is listed as a factory experimental car with a lightwieight chassis.
Mrs P Baird was the lady, if that was the car you saw.
(According to AMOC records...)

Yes that was it 40MT and that was the lady. I’ve just googled the reg and a green de-bumpered race car appeared, so looks like someone couldn’t resist the temptation to spoil its originality. Great shame in my opinion, particularly for such an important example.Car & Driver also did the same with a different 4GT.
