I think that belongs to a PH'er, if memory serves correctly.

Odd oversight by the owner.
Police probably did them a favour. Imagine writing off your F40 and then remembering what that ‘thing to do’ was that you were trying to remember.

Still odd that it was towed away. If it was mine and I had genuinely forgotten to insurer it or more realistically believed an existing contract covered it i would be on line at rhe side of the road and buying an immediate policy.
Let's be honest it's not hard to do anymore. 5 mins and sorted

True to a point but probably a touch harder on something worth about £2m. I doubt you could just call up Direct Line.

Owner lives in Southport and has a few nice bits I believe.

Being a proper loser I was admiring this, owner was happy to chat and told me he had bought it as an ex demo, now 288k (kms), and is pissed Renault don't stock the chrome for the rear window seal as it's pretty much the only thing gone.

Not a loser by any means, I love them - the thinking man’s 2CV (I love 2cvs as well!)

I remember Mum nearly got one of those as her first car when we were young kids. Ended up with a Renault 6 instead, which expired a few years later thanks to an electrical fire.

It had recently been purchased by a US based new owner who was covered by their insurance from over there, so no doubt just not showing on the UK police system.

They were back off and running soon enough apparently.

Lovely white 997 GT3 on the M56 this morning.

Almost wasn't lovely anymore as driver went to undertake a Corsa just as the Corsa decided to move left....

Was feckin close!

Likely just not showing up on the MID as it’s insured in another country.

I used to look after some Chubb policies for clients with high end cars - we could insure them instantly - but often didn’t show up on the databases quickly enough. I always advised the client to print the policy document and have my number to hand.

Try doing that with direct line or similar - brokers used to earn their money, and clients got proper service ( I guess you were a broker?)
